Evelyn Birkby is described as wife, mother, homemaker, newspaper columnist, author, and radio personality. She has written numerous books on the subjects of rural history.

In the interest of history, Mrs. Birkby also donated this collection including scrapbooks, newspaper clippings, promotional photographs, and audio recordings to the University of Iowa Libraries.

This gathering of material has been digitized and made available online. Today we will be spending a few minutes looking at what is available in the collection.
