It is look- ing downriver. The two roads at the extreme left go downstream and upstream. The upstream one to Arena is nearly completed. The downstream one has been open for a year. Of the two roads at the extreme right, the longer one leads to Andes and Downs- -^Kindness of Herald-Tribune, New York N ville. The short one to Marg£u:etville. The two bits of road under the bridge are temporary ones, used by the contractors. The road on the right side, leading down into the water, is former route 30. The dark area of reservoir is about the location of former Shaver- town. The road on the left side, which runs down into the water, is the former highway on the south side of the river. When the reservoir fills, water will run over this wall into a rock chan- nel and then into the Eeist Branch. The white spot ahead of the arrow, top of picture, is a tiny waterfall in the flow the courts demand New York to rele£ise. It is far more water, at this time of the year, than would have been supplied by the natural flow of the river. Top of spillway is lower than top of dam. HALCOTT CENTER By Mrs. K. V.
