2.8 Online Help

Each model of NodeB has a set of online helps. Their contents differ from one model

to another. However, the contents of online helps are the same. Table 3-3 describesthe contents of online helps of a NodeB.

Table 2-7 Contents of online help

Name Contents

O&M System OnlineHelp

The navigation tree structure is O&M task oriented. A node in the navigation treerepresents one task.

This online help provides the meanings of the interfaces and applications of the functionsin the O&M system.

This online help describes routine operations, including system overview, softwareupgrading, data backup, equipment and clock maintenance, Iub interface tracing, 141tests, and performance tests.

This online help provides the meanings of the indicators and DIP switches in each board.

ConfigurationManagement SystemOnline Help

The navigation tree structure is configuration task oriented. A node in the navigation treerepresents one task.

This online help provides the meanings of the interfaces and applications of the functionsin the configuration management system.

This online help describes data configuration tasks, including configuring Iub transportlayer data, local cell data, maintenance channel data, transport channels for subsequentequipment, and common modifications to configuration data.

 Alarm ManagementSystem Online Help

This online help consists of two parts: alarm operation tasks and alarm handlingsuggestions.

For the alarm operation tasks, the structure of its navigation tree is alarm operation taskoriented. A node in the navigation tree represents one task. This part provides themeanings of the interfaces and applications of the functions in the alarm managementsystem.

Regarding alarm handling suggestions, the structure of its navigation tree is alarmseverity oriented. This part describes alarm meanings, impact on system, system actions, and alarm handling of each alarm.

MML command onlinehelp

The navigation tree structure is MML command function oriented.

This online help describes the function, parameters, notes and examples of each MMLcommand.
