Paul Cronan ([email protected]) Faculty Advisor: Dr. Theresa Cronan ([email protected]) Dear Friends and Benefactors of St. Thomas Aquinas & Catholic Campus Ministry, Greetings from the campus of the University of Arkansas! We are now well into the spring semester, and though the spring weather has not yet arrived – some of us are still holding out hope for a late winter snow- fall! – there is much activity both around the university and here at St. Thomas Aquinas. As you know, the Catholic Church is now celebrating a special Jubilee Year of Mercy, called for by Pope Francis. This time of special grace is aimed at experiencing anew the profound mercy of God and to do what we can to share that mercy with others. We have taken this to heart at St. Thomas Aquinas, and nearly all of the recent events of our Catholic Campus Ministry reflect this mission in some way. From celebrating our patron on the Feast of St. Thomas Aquinas, to learning about the Word of God in our on-campus Bible studies, from our Lenten lec- ture focused on God’s mercy, to preparing our catechumens and candidates to enter into the fullness of the faith at Easter, from working with the Council of Religious Organizations and The Pack Shack to feed the hungry, to a time of reflection and renewal at our Awakening Retreat at St. Scholastica Monastery – every- thing in some way revolves around encountering again the infinite mercy of God. Though it is important to give thanks for the many things that God allows us to do, it is almost important to remember that we do not do them alone. The support of our faithful friends, generous benefactors, proud alumni – in short, all of you – makes the work of our ministry possible. My heart is moved with deep grati- tude for the spiritual and financial support that you share with us. Thank you! In this sacred season of Lent, please continue to remember us in your prayers and, if possible, support us with your giving of alms. May this season of Lent be for all of us “a privileged moment to celebrate and experi- ence God’s mercy” in new and profound ways (Pope Francis, Misericordiae Vultus). May God bless you! Your friend in Christ, Fr. Andrew Hart

Lenten Lecture Series with Cackie Upchurch

Wow, what a year! It seems like just yesterday I was moving things into my office and anxiously awaiting the arrival of our students here at St. Thomas. This year has been full of spiritually nourishing events such as our recent Awakening Retreat and our weekly Bible studies, as well as exciting community events and service trips. It has truly been a blessing to watch all of the stu-dents here at St. Thomas grow in their faith and share it with others. I am always amazed at their passion for Christ and they inspire me to continue pursuing my faith on a daily basis. Thank you all for your support of the Catholic Campus Minis-try at the University of Arkansas. You are sup-porting the next generation of Catholic leaders. God bless you all! Anna Paige Frein, Campus Minister

Hey Catholic Hogs! It’s hard to believe it is already March and we are half way through the spring semester. As we are winding down the Lenten Season and getting closer to Easter, I hope everyone has been able to experi-ence the endless mercy of Christ and been able to grow in their faith during this time of penance. It has been a great year at St. Thomas filled with programming and events such as Service Saturdays, Retreats, Bible Studies, Praise Unplugged and many more. St. Thomas is such a great community and to see God at work with our student leadership has been such a joy. It is so cool to see the Holy Spirit at work in the students at the University of Arkansas and to be able to see them grow in their faith and become leaders within the St. Thomas community has been something special to watch! I also want to thank our many donors during our annual Phone-A-Thon as well as throughout the year that help make St. Thomas Aquinas and Catholic Campus Ministry at the University of Arkansas possible. I wish everyone a very Happy Easter and thanks again for the continued support of St. Thomas Aquinas University Parish! Adam Koehler, Campus Minister
