Our Advent Parish Mission December 15-17, 6:00-7:30 pm

Sunday evening--Connecting with the Light of Christ

Monday evening--Experiencing the Light of Christ

Tuesday evening--Living the Light of Christ

Paul Koleske is a national Catholic speaker, singer and song writer, from Milwaukee,WI.

Confessions: Sunday 7:30pm Father Dave & Dave Kelly

Monday 7:30pm Father Dave, Father Kelly & Father Joiji

Tuesday 7:30pm Father Dave, Father Kelly & Father Patrick

Connecting with the Light of Christ

Paul had a turning point that he terms a “conversion experience” in his walk as a “lukewarm” Catholic Christian. When he asked a special favor of God, he got a bit more than he bargained for. During Mission night #1 – Connecting with the Light of Christ, Paul will share this miracle story as a reminder that miracles are possible and in fact happen every day.

He will speak about the Mass and the miracle of transubstantiation. Paul also points out why most people are missing the “spirit” required to move mountains in their lives and the Church. He will speak about the miracle of our minds and bodies and how they were meant to function with the Light of Christ coursing through our beings!

Experiencing the Light of Christ

Experiencing the Light of Christ on a personal level is something all Catholics need to improve. Paul teaches Catholics about the power of the spoken word and shares several practical ideas on what we can do to break the mental cycles of anxiety, fear, doubt, worry, and guilt. All this information has its roots in the scriptures and several powerful verses will be discussed to engage the congregation so that we understand at a deeper level.

He will also share four very essential tools for spiritual growth for increased manifestation of the Holy Spirit to better Experience the Light of Christ.

Living the Light of Christ

This session begins with another story. Paul’s incredible “desert experience”. He will disclose how the presence of the Holy Spirit sustained him, and in fact bolstered his Catholic faith.

Paul will speak on how to deal with life’s toughest disappointments (including those within the Catholic church). He will engage us on what attitude we are to have to our responses to life’s ups and downs. Paul points out the difference between “why me” vs. for what purpose? He teaches why limitations and the trials we all face can be the greatest resource to greater good. Paul will share with us the potential for good that God has placed within us to truly Live the Light of Christ!

And, as with all Paul’s spoken word presentations, he selects songs from his inspired music that will illuminate the topics discussed and point toward solutions to life’s concerns.

Join us for this wonderful opportunity to enliven our spirituality and rejoice in our faith!

Christmas Cards for Priests & Sister… While you are writing your Christmas cards, please

do not forget about those Pastors and Priests who have served you so well.

Lord, we give you thanks Please Generously Support: Those Who Have Served and Those Who Will Serve: The diocesan-wide Christmas collection will be used for the needs of our seminarians and retired diocesan priests. Even though we have recently completed a diocesan endowment campaign for these needs, many of those pledges will not be completed for a few years, making this collection still necessary at this time. In this time of giving, we ask you to share a portion of the gifts you have been given to support our future clergy and those men who have devoted their lives to the Church. If you will be out of town over Christmas, please consider using the envelope in your envelop packet next weekend.

What is a “Posada”?

The word “posada” means inn or shelter. In the posada tradition, children dress as Mary and Joseph and shepherds and act out the drama of them seeking a suitable place for the Christ child to be born.

We invite you to accompany Mary and Joseph as they search for room at the inn of our hearts on Saturday, December 17 after the 7 pm mass. Bring your children and let them sing the Posada song, break the piñata, and share the sweetness of community together. In Christ, our Emmanuel, we are all one!
