Updating Transit in Lake County
General Outcomes from Study
Updating Transit in Lake County
- Several corridors for new service identified- New flex routes- New Call-n-Rides- “Lollipop” Flex Routes- New express bus service
- But the framework also needed to be updated
• Still based off of a single Downtown Waukegan hub.
• Possible to reach all major destinations by bus• System not focused on new-growth areas away
from the Lake– Few timed transfer opportunities

Updating Transit in Lake County
Minimizing Disruption
• Early on, we started working with several key stakeholders
• Talked with cities, major property owners and agencies
• The College of Lake County was a key partner– College was interested in more transit service– Pace needed a place to host a Central Lake County
transfer point
• Together, we were able to reorganize the network without capital investment
Finding Mutual Benefit
