enhancing the lives of children who are likely to spend their childhoods

in orphanages

Our focus area is education and subsequent empowerment of

these children

We could introduce many like-minded friends to charitable

institutions like Abhaya and Janaseva

Vasantam is a platform to make new friends with right attitude towards

the greater ideals of life

From July 2006, we are consistently supporting the 70 children who

are inmates of "ABHAYA" a charitable organisation

Abhaya is chaired by the renowned Poetess, Environmentalist,

Humanist, Professor - Smt. Sugatha Kumari

Abhaya is based at an idyllic village 10 km from

Thiruvananthapuram city (website - www.abhaya.org )

We feel it more of our moral duty to support the passionate charity

movements like Abhaya

Vasantam Third Year Activities

Home

Group donated English vocabulary & Personality development books in August.

We had arranged a binded collection of useful articles relevant for children.

Rajeev AS introduced Infosys,Tvm Charity group “Jagruthy” to Abhaya. They donated 100 note

books, 15 tiffin boxes, umbrellas, Shuttle badminton rackets etc to Abhaya children.

In November, Baiju visited Abhaya with wife & arranged to buy notebooks, pen/pencils, instrument

boxes, umbrellas, dress etc worth Rs.4000 for the children.

Dr. Anilkumar (UK) arranged a special occasion support of Rs.10,000 in December for Abhaya

children.

One of the Vasantam member (would like to be anonymous) did a special occasion support of

Rs.5000 in February.

In March, Rajeev MP arranged a marriage feast for the Abhaya children and contributed Rs.3000.

Dr. Arunkumar (Tvm) arranged a cheque of Rs. 2500 collected from his students for Abhaya.

In April, Vasantam handed over some books for children (Alchemist by Paulo Coelho,  Thennali Raman

stories & Nursery Rhymes).

In May, we could arrange a special occasion support worth 17,075 towards schooling needs of

Abhaya children.

In June, Rajeet installed a "letter box" at Abhayabala with number lock. Children can drop their

needs in this box & these needs will be listed in the Monthly Group Mail.

Being a localite, Sujeet Jayan’s support for the Group cannot be listed in this limited space!

The measure of life is not its duration, but its donation.

Vasantam is focusing on the Education and subsequent Empowerment of the Children

who will likely spend their childhoods in orphanages. We do this by channelising

voluntary contributions & other supports from Group members.

From July 2006, Vasantam is consistently supporting the inmates of "ABHAYA", a

charitable organisation based at an idyllic village 10 km from Thiruvananthapuram. Now

we have started supporting the second organisation – "Janaseva Sisubhavan“ (Aluva).

Let us appreciate the efforts of Abhaya & Janaseva for uplifting the children from

pathetic

and debilitating conditions and let us extend a helping hand to support this good cause.

However small be the support, let us do it for a Good Cause !
