Raheja Developers Re-Defining the Definition
of Humanity Through Their CSR
The real estate sector is growing day by day and it is up to the real
estate developers to work for the welfare of people who are always
ready to work for them. Raheja Developers, the real estate giant is
working for the welfare of society as well as its workforce.
The Krishna Mahesh Gayatri Sansthan (KMGS), a charitable trust is a
Live example of Raheja Builders efforts towards society. It was
formed to provide education, healthcare and better lifestyle
standards for unprivileged children free of cost.
The company aims to provide better lifestyle for those who can't
afford it. DDA for the first time had launched the "In-Situ Slum
Rehabilitation Scheme" to rehabilitate slum dwellers in the year
2008 under PPP model. In 2008, tenders were invited from private
developers out of which eight developers qualified for the bid. The
first tender was floated to rehabilitate Kathputli Colony which is one
of Delhi's largest slum clusters and was won in a competitive open
tender process by Raheja developers Ltd.
Under this scheme, the 2800 families of Kathputli shall be given a
new ease of life by providing them the modern apartments with all
the amenities they need. This project was taken by Raheja
Developers with a mission to give some contribution to the society by
way of making homes for the economic weaker society of India and
help in their upliftment and giving them and their families a better
living. This also goes a long way to improve the image of India and
make it slum free.

World Toilet Day: Maruti Suzuki to build
1000 toilets at cost of Rs 7.4 crore in
Haryana, Gujarat
As the United Nations observes World Toilet Day on November
19, Maruti Suzuki, country's largest car maker, is building
lavatories in some villages of Haryana and Gujarat under its
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and sanitation initiative
to eliminate open defecation.
In recent years, Maruti Suzuki has scaled up efforts to cover
over 16 villages across Gurgaon, Manesar and Rohatak in
Haryana and Hansalpur in Gujarat. The automobile
manufacturer has tied up with the Sulabh International for the
construction of individual household toilets. Maruti Suzuki has
successfully built 106 individual household toilets in 2014-15
at a cost of Rs 1.6 crore which helped three villages of Manesar
to become open defecation free and targets to make at least
seven more villages open defecation free in FY 2015-16,
claims the company. For this, Maruti plans to construct 1000
individual toilets, 13 public toilets and 19 toilets in 10 schools
at a total cost of Rs 7.4 crore.

the Corporate Affairs Ministry, which
is implementing the Act. Sources
said an action taken report has been
prepared on the recommendations
made by the panel. The report has been cleared by Corporate
Affairs Minister Arun Jaitley.
For further action on the panel's suggestions, the ministry is
looking at various options, including possible amendments to the
Companies Act, they added. Changes would be made to certain
rules related to CSR activities apart from coming out with
clarifications through circulars, sources said. The panel, chaired by
former Home Secretary Anil Baijal, was tasked to make
suggestions for improved monitoring of CSR spending. "Reference
to 'any financial year' in Section 135(1) of the Act, needs to be re-
examined by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs with a view to making
necessary amendment(s) either in Section 135(1) or in the
relevant rule," the panel said. Besides, it has called for clarification
with regard to the definition of the term 'net profit' used for
deciding CSR spending criteria.
Among others, the committee had said differential tax treatment
for expenditure on various CSR activities may create unforeseen
distortion in allocation of funds across development sectors. At
present, certain activities such as contribution to the Prime
Minister's National Relief Fund qualify for tax exemption.

first needs to be

by six central
ministries. They
will also have to
disclose twice a year how they spent the funds raised through the
exchange. In the first few years, Sammaan will enlist agencies such
as Dasra, HelpYourNGO, Credibility Alliance and GiveIndia to audit
the projects. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has
also agreed to sign off on CSR spending made through Sammaan.
“The new exchange will be a simple way for them, and for countless
other unlisted companies, to comply with the CSR rules,” said
Praveen Chakravarty, Independent Strategic Advisor to BSE, who
negotiated BSE's memorandum of understanding with industry
body CII and the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (part of the
Ministry of Corporate Affairs) that led to Sammaan. Eventually,
based on Sammaan's success, the BSE may even consider
launching an index of companies making ethical investments, along
the lines of FTSE4Good Index Series, Chakravarty said.
Chakravarty believes companies still have a glimmer of hope that
the rules will just go away. “But the then
Corporate Affairs Minister Sachin Pilot,” he says,
“intended the rule as a nudge, not a tax. The
compulsory disclosures are meant to shame
companies into giving.” It's a tried-and-tested
mechanism, Chakravarty explains. “Even the
Rockefellers and Carnegies had to be shamed into
giving.”

Dear friends! You may be some times
wondering to read the stories published
here under Healthcare updates and
further seeing the number of people
seeking our help. It's a fact that, the
abhayans all across the globe do
respond regularly. But, the need is like
Himalayan Mountain and the support we
get from various segments is like that of
Himalaya soap.
Nevertheless, we keep sharing the
needs with prayers in News letter, Whats
App, FB, FB Page, Website, Twitter, SMS
etc., with an expectation that someone,
somewhere may come out with an
innovative idea!, in saving the one in
crisis. If it works, then we can happily
replicate such solution to all those
needy people. Every month, there are at
least 6 needy people approach abhaya
seeking help and seeking resolution for
their critical issues. Many a times many
people go back unattended by NGOs .
Himalayans & Himalaya Soap!!
There are very experienced people in abhaya group, experts, philanthropists, and kind
hearted people. Appealing everyone to think what can be done for such terminally ill
people. We may become GODs if we could rescue them through our ideas and resources.
Just pray fully think and share your ideas. Love, CS Balachandra Sunku, Founder

Sailatha (MBBS)This month was a memorable month for my life time. Having spent not less than 1 hour completely with uncle, learnt so many things about life, like how to lead life and how to not. Got clarifications to my questions and felt happy for attaining a clear ideology towards life. Later enjoyed THE DIVINE PRERANA program and got inspired by one more personality named Dr. Anilkumar famous cardiologist and came back home with lots of joy. In Dussehra vacation, I visited holy places l ike Pavgada,
Vidhuraswatham, Leepakshi. I had divine time by visiting the ancient monuments, archaeological sites, and monolithic sculptures etc., Enjoyed grama seva at Alligundu village by participating in service.
Then I proceeded to Kurnool to have medical checkups which was a time taking process. This time I cleared everything and came back got scanned and went to neurologist where he advised me to use steroids, diuretics, etc., suspecting that migraine might also be one of the reasons of disc oedema. To avoid complications like loss of vision, etc., I am following the course. Then went to ophthalmologist and underwent different test and this imaged my fundus of my eyes after examination. Now am all right but only the thing is getting easily tired even in accomplishing routine works. The expenses to all these might have crossed Rs.1000/- apart from recommendations and concessions for few things. Brought new uniforms which amounted to Rs.1000/-. Due to such unexpected busy schedules couldn't concentrate properly on studies. But I need to plan and focus right from now onwards as pre final exams are going to commence from December. Presently, I am posted to orthopedics.
Leelavathi (M.Sc., Ph.D)I am S. Leelavathi from Nalluru. I am doing well by God's grace and abhaya's support. I am fit and fine and I could get rid of headache since the day I have started doing yoga. My CSIR coaching is going on and syllabus will be completed by the end of this month. Then revision classes will start and I have my exam coming soon. That is why I am focusing more on my preparation. Recently my M. Sc. Results was announced and I scored 80%.This credit goes to abhaya foundation. Thanking you so much to abhaya for the great supporting to me in all ways. Recently I was mentally disturbed because of my family problems and could not focus on my preparation, so I was counseled by Founder and was taken to abhaya, and this visit to abhaya home gave me a different perception towards life. This act made me motivate once again and taught me the truth that everybody has problems in Life but what matters the most is our approach and attitude towards the problems. My friend's father Mr. Nukaraju who is supported abhaya, his health has been showing some progress. I thank abhaya for all the support you have been providing us in all ways to progress in Life.

An offering by Founder at thy feet of
Sri Sathya Sai Baba on HIS 90th Birthday
I found many opportunities, to serve as many as possible
around in the society while world celebrating 90 Years of
Pure Love & Service of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. This
is my love for this PURE form of LOVE who infused life in to my
living, I LOVE HIM till the last breath & Will LIVE for HIS Message!
I spent my time during November 2015 in spreading the life skills
propagated by Baba wherever possible, whenever possible,
however possible to whom so ever possible and offer the initiative
as my humble gift at thy feet of Bhagawan Baba.
So is the thought, as is the result! Many
provided wonderful opportunities to me in the month of November and if
I see back, I feel humbled to know the fact that I could cover 2 states, 6
Districts, 23 places, 5,000 kilometers travel and interacting with 18,000
people. It is an amazing and divine experience in the life and hence
sharing the brief account of my month long initiative of spreading life
skills with you.

1.Govt Jr College/ Govt High School, KalyanadurgThe first in series was at Kalyanadurg, more than 1200 Intermediate, Vocational and High
School Students took part in the session on 6th November. When Sai Volunteers
approached Rajaram Thumucharla, the Principal in Charge for the first time in the Govt.
Junior College at Anantapur, seeking his permission to organize an Awareness Program
by me, he has very caringly suggested that such program can be arranged at KDG Govt.
Junior College as the students will be immensely benefited in the rural areas. His
suggestion turned to reality the way students sat on floor under the tent for more than 3
hrs was a site to see. Amazing is their interest. I could only do my best as heart was
moved beyond explanation... I wish all my good friends surely find time to visit rural area
students and interact with them whenever there is a possibility.
2. JNT University, AnantapuramBy the time we are done with Session at Kalyandurg
it was 12PM, Sai Volunteers arranged for yet another
session at JNTU with help of AP Sivakumar, In-
charge, JNTU Hostels. Rajaram Thumucharla,
Secretary, AP Govt College Principals Association
personally accompanied me in his car to JNTU from
Kalyandurg. I found, there were more than 500 B.
Tech., 1st year students waiting. I did my best to
share with them about current trends in the industry
and expectations from graduate engineers. Though
there was some initial disturbance, entire
community fell in sync with my deliberation. More
than 2 hours of time was spent. I could also briefly touched the concept of Complete Personality and Life
Skills. The session left good impressions in the hearts of many.
3. Govt. Medical College AnantapuramKnowing about my tour, abhaya Educare Student Kotturu Sailatha, who is pursuing
Medicine there, approached Sai Volunteers and requested to arrange for a session in
the college. She did some home work back end and took permission from Dr. Usha
Rani, Incharge Principal and there were more than 500 Medical Students gathered in
the college Auditorium at 3PM. It was amazing to see their sincere interest in learning
the points shared with them. I briefed about everything related to Doctor's Profession
apart from other life skills essential for every human being in the country. Everyone
felt inspired including teaching staff. All this made us to skip lunch, as our focus was on
making use of every minute at Anantapuram. My long term dream of talking with
Medical Students turned in to reality.
4. Kesavaeddy High School, AnantapuramWhen I was proceeding to next destination, I was cautioned
about behavior of naughty students of this high school by Sai
Volunteers. More than 500 High School Students bubbling
with energy of going back home were waiting to meet me
over there. It was a challenge for me to connect to them,
but, the way I started the session… in 5 minutes everyone
was passionately connected. Thanks to Baba who infused so
much of love and energy in my body, whatever might be the
situation! I always won the hearts! When Principal requested
to conclude by 6.30, no student was ready to leave the
auditorium. Instead they started shouting aloud that they want to listen to me more and more. They were not ready to go back
home, many parents were seen beckoning their kids to come out, not even a single child bothered to respond. Such was the
inspiration generated with the session with the help of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star... The way students shook hands, rubbed
shoulders and hugged me is something which cannot be explained but can be only experienced. Thanks to SSSSO, Anantapuram
5. SLN Junior College for Girls, AnantapuramNo one was interested to attend a session during such
an add time (730PM), but they made to sit and they
were gathered reluctantly by the instructions of their
Head of the Institution. It was a huge gathering of 2000
Jr College students drawn from all the districts of
Rayalaseema, it was seen as a Sea of Girls. I was little
scared about the time, ambience and reluctance. But
with in no time entire gathering was hearty connected
to me and my thoughts. No one even stood for a minute, though public address
system was not sufficient for such a gathering; they have created an absolute pin
drop silence. I could create
m a x i m u m p o s s i b l e
awareness about their life
and career coupled with Sai
Values and Philosophy. At
last the Principal took mike
and publicly expressed apology for their
disconnect stating that it was for the first time
each one of them were inspired by such a
session. Then there was a huge crowd of
students around me thanking, for such
session and many became very emotional
while sending me off from their campus.
6. Sri Sathya Sai Jr College
for Boys, AnantapuramIt was yet another divine session with
more than 1200 Inter students at Sri
Sathya Sai Jr College Anantapuam. More
than 2 hours of spell bound session for
students and teachers. We have
celebrated Baba's 90th Birthday in all
the places visited and we have
distributed Laddus as well.
This session was about getting ready for success. More than 500 Students of 1st
year B. Tech. participated very actively in discussion. Teaching and non teaching
staff thanked SSSSO for such a wonderful session. They were honest in inviting
me for another day long session for the benefit of students.
7. Anantha Lakshmi Institute of Technology, AnantapuramThis session was about getting ready for success. More than 500 Students of 1st

was an amazing fact that with in no time about Rs.75,000/-
was collected by the reunion of students for giving a facelift to
the Govt High School which is in a bad condition and a
contractor friend Prasad Reddy said he will take care of rest.
Feeling blessed to have such friends who understood me in
serving the needy. The day became yet another day filled with
lots of memories for life to move on...
8. Govt. Arts College,
AnantapuramEntire community of students
realized the importance of life
skills and felt sorry about less
turn out. There were about 100
students gathered for the
session and so is my time spent
for them. Lecturers assured of
making it as big event next
time.
9. Reunion of Class X Students (1983-84) of Govt. High School, Tadpatri
10. Interactive Meeting with Heads of
High Schools of TadpatriI had on opportunity to discuss, interact and learn many
things relating to present day education system in the
country. SSSSO, Tadpatri made a wonderful attempt to
bring many Heads whose schools together having close to
10000 students. I had an opportunity to share Baba's
Philosophy of Value based Education, Educare, VidyaVahini
and encouraged them to join the Mission on SSS Vidya
Vahini. Very inspiring they are...satisfying time for me
This session was unique. There were more than
1000 students and 90% of them are rural kids. It
was different interaction here most of them talked
about negative influences like teenage,
attractions, cinemas and cell phones etc.,Pained to
know the issues of their age, instead of talking
about education and values, I started speaking
about how to overcome from such negative
influences in life. It was yet another spell bound
session for entire community of teachers and
students. At the end each student wished to shake
hand, hug and shared their mobile number etc.,
11. Govt. Junior & Vocational College at Anantapuram
There was a huge difference in seeing the
College run by Sai Volunteers and other
Pvt. and Govt. Colleges which were visited
by me since 3 days. There was difference
in infrastructure, upgrading the campus,
cleanliness, colours, ground, compound,
uniforms, devotion, discipline, silence,
teachers and students; every aspect was
mixed with Sai Values. It was again
heartwarming experience to interact with
more than 1200 girl students who
belonged to poor and middle class families
and rural areas. In total I could generate best possible impressions about life, career
and Personality in their hearts, inspiration to march ahead in days to come.
12. Sri Sathya Sai Jr College for Women
13. Narayana Jr College, AnantapuramSai Youth with Sai Educare
teams of SSSSO, Anantapuram
created best time for me with
their passionate effort. The
session was at Narayana
College, more than 1200
Students though very naughty
but got connected to me heartily
within no time in spite of drizzling
lightly on their heads, they were
roaring like lions and bubbling
with lots of energy, it was like
swimming in their hearts with Sai
Values. In spite of drizzling and
dinner time no single student was disturbed and more over entire teaching and non teaching staff just became students among
students enjoying every bit of my talk. They said such a power packed session has never been witnessed by them. Requested me
to visit the campus any time I visit Anantapuram. Feelings blessed to serve my country men with SSSSO while the world
celebrating Baba's 90th Birthday on 23rd November 2015
14. Diwali celebrations at Victoria Residential Home, HyderabadYet another Diwali celebrated with 1000 kids at Govt. run Victoria Residential Home at Saroor
Nagar, it became my Annual routine since a decade or so with Sai Youth, but this time missed
many of my loved ones. How ever seeing the faces of kids in the lights, just forgot everything
and immersed myself with innocent hearts.
15. Children's Day celebrations at Oxford High School & Pragathi High School, HyderabadIt was a delightful experience to celebrate Children's Day with 1500 both the Schools along with their students. Their enthusiasm
and energy in learning new things has awakened the child within me once again. It is true that there is a child hidden deep inside
everyone's heart. Let us not bury the child inside us, instead let us revive the traits of a child like being happy for no reason, being
enthusiastic in learning everything and being satisfied with minute things in life. Thanks to abhayans Sri G Madhumohan, Tax

16. ICAI Vijayawada
Pleased to inform you that the Art of Parenting workshop held at Puvvada Auditorium in Khammam on 15th November 2015 was a grand success. More than 250 parents participated in it actively and discussed various aspects involved in pearenting. Everybody felt it's a great responsibility that they have towards not only their children but thereby to the society in producing responsible and enlightened citizens for the country.
Local MLA Sri Puvvada Ajay Kumar graced the occasion as chief guest and spoke how his father had different ideology and affiliation to different party but allowed him to have his own ideology and welcomed his choice of party and thereby allowing him to grow as himself independently. Later the IIT fame Sri Chukka Ramaiah garu spome for 45 mints pouring his experience in teaching field and explaining the psychology of the children and how careful we must be not to send wrong and contradictory signals to them by not practicing what we preach every day. The child learns by example and not by precept. Then Sri Prasad from Jana Vijnana Vedika animatedly spoke and explajned how we must arrange all the circumstances around the child for it to develop freely and without being under stress.
The last session by Sri Balachandra Sunku from abhaya Foundation was so interesting that even when we wanted to close the program at 2PM because of delay, but the parents were not allowing us to conclude and demanded the speaker to continue as his talk is so valuable for them. They said we eat everyday but we came today for this important program so that we can bring more love and light into our children's life. Sri Sunku garu made everyone participate in the debate and made it free for all. Real ground level problems were raised from experience and solutions found thereby. Everyone felt that such important conferences must be held once every year.
We t h a n k a l l t h e s c h o o l managements for their wonderful cooperation. We thank the parents to have utilized this program. We especially thank the speakers for their valuable time and knowledge - transfer.- Team VIHE

Felt blessed to see, interact
and address 500 tribal youth
drawn from Visakhapatnam
Agency areas. No one have
seen a train in their life till
now and every one visited
Baba's abode for the first
time in life. They just earn
Rs.50 or Rs.100 from selling
the forest produce. The most
shocking news is that they
all drink mud waters nearby
their hamlets.
Sai Youth inspired by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba started working
on the Mission to provide little clean water for their drinking since
last 5 years. They faced many hurdles and instructions, but their will
never diluted. They started looking at the source of each water flow
in the hills and laid pipelines and connected them to water tanks
which gave the tribal a heavenly experience filling the pots with
waters in taps.
19. Vizag Tribal Youth, Prasanthi Nilayam
Sai Youth did such small water tanks in 170 places tirelessly.
More than this, they started working on their personal
habits and hygiene. Results are miraculous, that can be
seen understood only when someone see the congregation
of thousands of tribal from hundreds of hamlets in order to
express their gratitude to Baba.
This is just a single story of transforming the countrymen by
Sai Youth, they are in hundreds all over the country.
Dedicating the life for such people... I moved to
Dharmavaram for yet another service opportunity.
I had a most memorable session with most innocent rural
students of Govt. Junior College for boys and girls at
Dharmavaram, Anantapuram Dist. When I questioned myself as
to what is the best way to offer my love to Baba on his 90th
Birthday on 23rd November 2015, my inner being answered me
that I must try to spend time in taking Sai Values to student
communities would be an opt offering. Hence, November month
dedicated for the youth of this country. So made my visit to
Dharmavaram. I just touched Baba's Maha Samaadhi in the
morning today. Seen Tribal Youth at back yard of
Prashanthinilayam. Finished lunch, proceeded to Dharmavaram.
1200 boys and girls with their lecturers waited without knowing
who is coming to them. Without saying the name, just started my
session with Sai Values... It was a spellbound for everyone. Their
expressions were simply superb, many became emotional, and
many felt responsible, most of them felt determined and some of
them cried but, on whole everyone was inspired. When teaching
staff tried to honor me, I turned that in to worshipping and
honoring Baba's alter that was placed on the stage. It was a

“ EA T”H RRural Development Update
I must thank abhaya Foundation for giving me this opportunity to share my thoughts and
views on the status quo of rural India. More than two-thirds of India's population live in
villages. Villages of India symbolize the true spirit of country that is rich in its culture and
traditions. Habitually the Indian villagers manifest a deep loyalty to their villages. A rural
family which has its root seated deeply in a specific village does not move easily to another.
The mystic charm and the cultural diversities of the village life in India make Indian villages the
land where beauty never fades away, and dreams never cease to exist.
The villagers of India are normally habituated in sharing and using the common
facilities of the village including the village shrines, pond, schools, grazing grounds,
recreation places, etc. This interdependence of the village life in India perhaps
provides a matchless unity amongst the villagers which supports them in surviving amidst thousands of odds.
This seemingly sweet definition of village & village life is now a matter of past. To sustain any culture, a society or a
village, the responsibility lies on the shoulders of the citizens living in that society. Of late, the major challenge in the
Indian villages has been and is migration. The cream of the village society is vacating the village. All educated
citizens are moving out of the villages for improvised livelihood. All the students are moving out of the village to
pursue higher studies.
Majority of the communities are finding it difficult to persist with their traditional jobs, which
once was their source of daily bread and butter. Hence these communities are moving out of
villages. Though the reasons for this displacement might be financial, political or any other, these
communities are of the conclusion that if they move to urban areas their lives may change for
good. Besides the above reasons, pursuing an occupation in Indian Villages has become a tough
task. Traditional occupation in our villages was Agriculture which is not viable now. The actions
that our government is taking are not gaining ground. With all this I feel, it is high time that we
look back to our villages. I will share my views and suggestions on various aspects of village
development here after. Mainly I will discuss on Infrastructure, Health and Wellness, Education,
Women empowerment, Self-sustainability, which deals with increasing the per capita income of
the villagers. Also I am happy to support anyone who wants to start his/her journey towards
village development. My next column will throw light on Agriculture with few implementation
plans and success stories. Love and life for the country. - Lakshmi Narasimharao Ikkurthi.
Why Rural Development needed in India
Aathma Viswasam Xerox Center, Penugonda
Mission RameshI am Bobbili Ramesh, I am a farmer and resident of Argul,
Nizamabad District. 19 years ago I had a electrified attack while
trying to set up electric connection to the current pole in the
farm I fell down from the pole and this made me handicapped.
The lower half of my body has become senseless and made me
bed ridden. I was treated at NIMS, Hyderabad and KIMS,
Mumbai, but it was of no use. My parents died after few months
because of the depression. Since then my sister has taken the
responsibility to look after me. She has given up marriage taken the whole responsibility on to her
shoulders. the agricultural land which we possessed was liquidated and money was spent for my
treatment. At presenting it is costing up to 5000 rupees per month for my maintenance and
medication. I request you to please do the needful and guide us to earn a source of income. You are
very kind in asking us to stay at abhaya home, Ibrahimpatnam till our last breath. But, we discussed
the matter here in our village. My sister is scared to come out of village and hence we are unable to
come to Hyderabad. We can only beg you to provide a monthly sustenance for my life. We accept what
ever you give. Please be kind in supporting me to lead the life.
J Kishore (PHC) was referred by Sri J
Prathap Reddy (JPR), Sahithi Gagan
Mahal Trust. Penugonda, Anantapuram
Dist AP to get livelihood support about
6 months back. With lots of thought
process, abhaya asked JPR to lead the
machine to the end. It took almost 9
months to provide a Xerox Machine
worth Rs.45,000/-. The machine was
supplied by Srinivas Reddy as he
delivered one such machine to Manohar & Jagannath at Ramakkapet, Medak Dist. The machine was there after transported to
Penugonda incurring Rs.8000/- charges for vehicle. Kishore n his brother Suresh were asked to look in the issues relating to
operation of the machine. They said they were ready with knowledge. There was Rs.2,000/- administration costs too involved.
Founder personally went and dedicated it to the welfare Kishore on 9th November 2015 in the presence of many local people.
We thought it is happy closure... Couple of weeks back when we enquired about working of machine...then to our shock they said
its not working. Then we started enquiring about what went wrong. Every stake holder (JPR, Kishore, Suresh, Supplier Srinivas
Reddy, Siva and Balachandra) talked differently. Ultimately the shop closed for a month since opening day. We pleaded the
supplier to attend to the defect and asked him to repair or replace it urgently. We are just waiting to address this issue. It's yet
again a painful experience for abhaya team in serving the needy. Praying GOD to infuse strength and expertise in doing such
projects. - abhaya Team
Mission Jairam Shetty (Karnataka)Hope many of the abhayans still remember him to whom abhaya provided
a tilling machine with about Rs.75000 about 5 years back and supported
him with a monthly support of 5000 for many years. Now due to heavy tear
and wear the machine was sold in scrap and this brought him to square
one. With lots of effort behind by Sri Subhash Chaabria, a long term
associate of abhaya could connect to Maya Sharma of NDTV seeking their
support and could telecast his story in NDTV news. Our plan is to buy a
Maruti Omni costing Rs.3.25 Lakhs. We could pool Rs. 2.05 lakhs till date
and the rest yet to be funded.
In the mean time Sri Subhash could connect to Abharan Motors at Udupi
and brief them about the condition of Jairam Shetty. They were kind
enough to provide Maruti Omni with financing facility. Rs.2.05Lakhs being
transferred to them by abhaya. Maruti Omni being delivered to Jairam and he will be giving the vehicle on rent to his
known friend who is a tourist operator with a firm commitment of getting Rs. 6 to 7 thousand per month enabling him to
survive with his disability. We sincerely hope this would give him a life - abhaya Team
Dear Maya Sharma,
At the outset I would like to thank NDTV and Abhaya foundation in particular,
founded by Mr. Balachandra Sunku ( they have single handedly given a
donation of Rs 1,00,000/=) for helping us to pool in about Rs 2,05,000/= which
has gone as part payment for purchase of a Maruti Omni tourist vehicle , for Mr.
Jayaram Shetty. The balance amount was got as a loan. He will now have a
chance for self- sustenance for himself and his family, through this help. A
sincere thanks to all concerned & keep the good work going . - Subhash.

gratitude and happiness. We have show cased the dresses and other items
which are designed and prepared by the beneficiaries of the 2nd Batch
students and also the crafts (record ) books prepared by the students as part of their program, The visitors are amazed to see the
works done by the students and appreciated. There was photo exhibition by abhaya Foundation and very good response from the

received good feed back from the elders and few suggestions for improving the scope and reach of our work, which we will be

Departure of Sri V Nagabushana RaoThe pioneer in spreading the Sai Message in the country, who roused from a common devotee to District President with his knowledge and wisdom in Sai Organization and stood by Sri Sathya Sai Balvikas for more than 5 decades in the country. The person behind my skill of spreading Swamy's message and Values finally merged with Baba and his last Balvikas class was just a week back at Anantapur. Till the last minute he lived like Sai SoulDear, attained SunayasaMaranam, left Keerthi behind and proceeded to work with Swamy at heavens.
