The following is a guide for the correct school uniform that is to be worn by EVERY student of
Verney College.
BOYS:
Blue Verney College golf shirt; Grey pants.
School Blazer compulsory from Grade 4 – 12.
Navy blue Verney Pullover may be worn.
Any extra winter jerseys worn must not be visible and should be worn UNDER the school
jersey.
Hoodies are not allowed.
T-shirts or vests worn under the Verney gold shirt should not be visible and must be white.
Smooth, black, lace up leather shoes to be worn. Takkies are NOT allowed to be worn
with the full school uniform.
Boys are to wear navy socks or grey socks.
Must be clean shaven at all times.
Hair is to be neat and tidy at all times. Short back and sides. Steps, Mohawks, unnatural
spikes etc are NOT allowed.
Hair may not touch the collar, ears or the eyebrows if pulled down.
Highlights in hair are NOT allowed. Neither are unnatural hair colours.
If boys have braids, the braids must follow the shape of the head, and the ends may not
touch the collar.
Afros may not be higher than 2 cm from the head.
Boys may not wear jewellery in the form of rings, arm bands, necklaces or earrings.
If religious items must be worn than a letter must be supplied by a religious leader.
If for whatever reason there is a problem regarding the correct uniform being worn, a letter
must be written by a parent/guardian indicating the problem and a date by which the issue
will be rectified. This letter is then to be signed by a head of grade or the uniform
controller.
Sports and PT – only the school’s Track suit and white takkies.
GIRLS
Blue Verney College golf shirt, grey pants or skirt.
Navy blue Verney Pullover and Blazer (Blazer from Grade 4 -12 compulsory)

than a four finger spacing from above the knee.

Nails must be short and nail polish/false tips are not allowed.
