(AAHA) in January 2010
As such Cavanaugh is

of 75 the annual budget
in excess of $11 million
and carries out the associationrsquos programs and policies
He also represents AAHA on the board of the National
Commission on Veterinary Economic Issues (NCVEI) and
at the North American Veterinary Medical Educational
Consortium
Cavanaugh practiced at AAHA-accredited hospitals
including West Ridge Animal Hospital in Topeka Kan
which he opened in 1988 During his practice years he
was active in organized veterinary medicine and held
numerous volunteer leadership and committee positions
within AAHA He became a diplomate of the American
Board of Veterinary Practitioners (Canine and Feline) in
1996 and later recertified in 2006 He gained valuable
experience in the animal health industry working with
several organizations including Pfizer Animal Health
where he was director of veterinary hospital services
In 2002 Cavanaugh received the Alumni Recognition
Award from Kansas State University and in 2009 he
was named Industry Partner of the Year by the Colorado
Veterinary Medical Association He is an affiliate faculty

Michael Hargrove DVM was raised in

Shore Veterinary Hospital
a six-doctor small animal
practice in Duluth Minn

has been AAHA-accredited for 35 years In addition to
his clinical and ownership duties Hargrove works as a
management consultant with Summit Veterinary Advisors
specializing in practice valuations for veterinarians who
are buying or selling veterinary practices He is also a
shareholder in an emergency practice that has seven
locations throughout the state of Minnesota
Hargrove is a member of the National Association of
Certified Valuation Analysts and is a member of the
Veterinary Valuation Resource Council of Vet Partners
a professional organization of veterinary practice
management consultants He also has served on the
Board of Governors of the Affiliated Emergency Veterinary
Service since the fall of 2008 and currently is serving as
president of that organization

manufacturing Medland
enjoys applying lean management principles and

Dr Shaw is an associate professor of veterinary
communication and the director of the Argus Institute
at Colorado State University Dr Shaw received her
veterinary degree from Michigan State University in 1994
and received her PhD in Epidemiology at the University
of Guelph in Ontario Canada in 2004 Dr Shaw was the
recipient of the 2008 Bustad Award recognizing her
contributions to enhancing the relationship between
people and their pets and the Colorado Veterinary
Medical Association Outstanding Faculty of the Year
Award in 2011
Dr Shaw implements the communication curriculum
at Colorado State University focusing on clinical
interviewing skills to enhance professional performance
through partnership with colleagues and clients She
serves on the advisory committee for the International
Conference on Communication in Veterinary Medicine
Dr Shaw is called upon internationally and nationally
to conduct skills-based communication workshops at
veterinary conferences and symposia She consults with
veterinary practices to enhance teamwork continuity of
care and client service

Kodak in 1978 as an accountant based at the Rochester
NY Kodak Park manufacturing site While there she
held a variety of financial
and supervisory positions
serving a wide variety of

start-up team for a joint
venture between Kodak
and Matsushita LTD
(aka Panasonic) In 1992
Wagner moved to Colorado and continued her career
in finance at Kodakrsquos Windsor manufacturing site Kodak
Colorado Division where she provided financial support
to each of the sitersquos major manufacturing divisions
In 2003 she became finance director for the Kodak
Colorado Division then a $500 million business employing
more than 1500 people Wagner was named director of
site strategy in 2008 and was tasked with developing a
strategy so the Colorado site could respond to industry
declines The multi-year multi-million-dollar project
involved the demolition of one square mile of vacant
manufacturing space and the sale of the remaining vacant
land for future redevelopment The project provided the
remaining businesses with a competitive advantage as
the low cost producer of the products manufactured at
the site During project implementation she was promoted
to plant manager Kodak Colorado Division Upon
completion of the project and after nearly 34 years with
the company Wagner retired
In January 2013 Wagner was hired by the University
of Colorado Health as the director of performance
improvement for their Northern Region There she leads the
organizationrsquos Lean Transformation to improve business
results in preparation for the impacts of health care reform
on the industry In addition she provides business and
finance training and consulting services and is actively
involved in the creation of a cancer center in Fort Collins

declines The multi-year multi-million-dollar project
involved the demolition of one square mile of vacant
manufacturing space and the sale of the remaining vacant
land for future redevelopment The project provided the
remaining businesses with a competitive advantage as
the low cost producer of the products manufactured at
the site During project implementation she was promoted
to plant manager Kodak Colorado Division Upon
completion of the project and after nearly 34 years with
the company Wagner retired
In January 2013 Wagner was hired by the University
of Colorado Health as the director of performance

strategy so the Colorado site could respond to industry
declines The multi-year multi-million-dollar project
involved the demolition of one square mile of vacant
manufacturing space and the sale of the remaining vacant
land for future redevelopment The project provided the
remaining businesses with a competitive advantage as
the low cost producer of the products manufactured at
the site During project implementation she was promoted
to plant manager Kodak Colorado Division Upon
completion of the project and after nearly 34 years with
the company Wagner retired
In January 2013 Wagner was hired by the University
of Colorado Health as the director of performance

declines The multi-year multi-million-dollar project
involved the demolition of one square mile of vacant
manufacturing space and the sale of the remaining vacant
land for future redevelopment The project provided the
remaining businesses with a competitive advantage as
the low cost producer of the products manufactured at
the site During project implementation she was promoted
to plant manager Kodak Colorado Division Upon
completion of the project and after nearly 34 years with
the company Wagner retired
In January 2013 Wagner was hired by the University
of Colorado Health as the director of performance
improvement for their Northern Region There she leads the
organizationrsquos Lean Transformation to improve business
results in preparation for the impacts of health care reform
on the industry In addition she provides business and

College of Veterinary Medicine in 1983 He became the

Hospital Association
(AAHA) in January 2010
As such Cavanaugh is

In 2003 she became finance director for the Kodak

more than 1500 people Wagner was named director of
site strategy in 2008 and was tasked with developing a
strategy so the Colorado site could respond to industry
declines The multi-year multi-million-dollar project
involved the demolition of one square mile of vacant
manufacturing space and the sale of the remaining vacant
land for future redevelopment The project provided the
remaining businesses with a competitive advantage as
the low cost producer of the products manufactured at
the site During project implementation she was promoted
to plant manager Kodak Colorado Division Upon
completion of the project and after nearly 34 years with
the company Wagner retired
In January 2013 Wagner was hired by the University
of Colorado Health as the director of performance
improvement for their Northern Region There she leads the
organizationrsquos Lean Transformation to improve business
results in preparation for the impacts of health care reform
on the industry In addition she provides business and
finance training and consulting services and is actively
involved in the creation of a cancer center in Fort Collins
