The Wineries

Viñas del Vero

Premium and state-of-the-art half a million cases winery

Viñas del Vero owes its own name to the river Vero, that flows along our vineryards

Viñas del Vero’s specific goal is to produce a wide range of “modern, branded and value for money” wines from both local and international varieties

SecastillaSecastilla

Secastilla Valley is situated in the northeast side of Somontano. Its name comes from Latin “Septem Castella” (seven castles).

Special Mediterranean microclimate that has clearly differentiated climatic conditions for vine, olive, almonds and truffles.

On stony slopes between 700 and 800 metres above sea level, we have recovered very old Garnacha vineyards, the traditional variety from Secastilla Valley.

The altitude together with a special orientation of the vines ensures many hours of sunshine, which naturally favours the ripening of the fruit. It is a non-irrigated area with sandy/loamy soils, which are very stony.

Since the moment we discovered this area, we have been working to recover old vineyards and planting new ones: Parraleta, Moristel, Cariñena, ...... total 40 has.

Our icon wine BLECUA is the result of a “triple selección” process:

Selection of vineyards

Selection of bunches

Selection of barrels

BlecuaBlecua

The seven best parcels from our vineyards were selected to be the source of the grapes from which our limited released Blecua is produced (14 has.)

Cabernet Sauvignon 3 parcels Garnacha 2 parcels Tempranillo 1 parcel Merlot 1 parcel

Selection of VineyardsSelection of Vineyards

The selection of the best bunches is carried out:

In the vineyards: hand pick grapes

In the cellar: triage table

Selection of bunchesSelection of bunches

Every single wine coming from a different parcel is vinificated and aged separately in new Allier oak barrels from 4 different cooperages.

Only the best oak barrels will be used for the final blend
