Who We Are

Cary Betagole

Cary Betagole found his way to Philadelphia through Cincinnati and Boston, and he found his way

to Watering Can through a fascination with the possibilities of social collaboration technology. In

the past, he’s worked in digital marketing, newspaper & magazine journalism, music

management, and the startup world. He currently freelances for Technically Philly. Cary is

excited to be a part of a team that’s developing tools we’ll use to add & retain value within our

communities.

Justin Broglie

Justin spent most of his youth asking the big questions and dreaming up solutions to the world’s

problems. He believes in the essential interconnectedness and interdependence of all of life.

Justin graduated from the University of Pennsylvania’s engineering school, studying Digital Media

Design, and has been running a successful web development consulting business, Relative

Commotion since his sophomore year. He is passionate about how to harness the amazing

power of technology to create social good.

Micah Fay

Micah is an experimental philosopher, amateur anthropologist, and jack of all trades. He has

been a seeker throughout his life, trying to understand and influence the world around him. He

has questioned the roots of our culture openly, leading him to study primitive cultures and

ultimately live in commune with nature in British Columbia for 18 months. His experiments,

however, led him back to Philadelphia where he seeks to utilize technology to reintroduce the

successful aspects of tribal cultures that unite and fulfill the human spirit.

Danielle Heitmann

Danielle is a budding social entrepreneur with on-the-ground interfaith-based community

building experience across Philadelphia. Danielle is convinced that her Penn philosophy degree

helps her everyday because she spends her time asking important conceptual questions to

facilitate group discussions and goals.

Ben Rodigas

Ben began his design career in Australia where he worked as an Experience Architect for a

successful customer experience consultancy. He then worked as a UX Designer for Comcast

where he designed interfaces for mobile, web, and TV. Ben is fascinated by design and its

potential to be used for personal and social transformation. Ben spends his free time

volunteering for non-profits, meditating, and learning how to do awesome AcroYoga moves with

his friends.

A Note On Our Name ‘Watering Can’

During a strategic planning meeting, we came up with the name “Watering Can” based on the fact that we aim to

“grow” human acts of compassion. We may change our name to one that better conveys the the design and

technology side of our organization. We are affiliated with Relative Commotion LLC, social impact web

development consulting boutique.
