OR you are open-minded, and you choose to listen in order to understand. While some seeds fall on rocky paths, shallow ground and never comes to maturity, and some be choked to death by thorns, nevertheless a harvest will come. Greetings and welcome again to the celebration of the Eucharist/Mass. Today’s theme encourages us all to be fruitful and faithful to God’s Word; allowing it to feed into our inner selves and be true disciples by living it and sharing it with one another. Let us continue to seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit to dwell within us

always, trust Gods Word and bring it to light.

1st Reading: Isaiah 55:10 – 11

Isaiah gives hope to those who are despair in exile. God is true to His word with the promise of deliverance to happen.

2nd Reading: Romans 8:18 – 23

Paul tells the Christians in Rome the groaning of all creation to be freed from its own slavery; as for those who bear first-fruits of the

Spirit wait to be set free.

Gospel Reading: Matthew 13:1 – 23

Parables were used by Jesus, to disclose to his followers the Kingdom of God and His great Love. In today’s gospel, the parable of the sower was aimed at his hearers; and there are different ways

of accepting God’s word and they produce different fruits accordingly. Which of these, do you think applies to you?

You are either: a prejudiced hearer, who is blind and shuts its mind from it and chooses not to hear anything. OR you are a shallow

hearer, one who fails to think things out or think them through and usually who respond with an emotional reaction.

Eventually when it wears off your mind wanders elsewhere. OR you are someone who finds no interest at all listening to Gods

word, lacks the ability to comprehend what is really important; you are too busy to pray or too preoccupied to meditate on God. OR

you are open-minded, and you choose to listen in order to understand. While some seeds fall on rocky paths, shallow ground

and never comes to maturity, and some be choked to death by thorns, nevertheless a harvest will come. But the seed that falls on

good soil, on a heart that is open-minded, it will reap abundance. How hungry are you for God’s word? Would you allow anything to

stop you from accepting the word of God in your heart, with joy and trusting obedience?

Have a blessed week. Felise Lemi

In other news….. Today is Sea Sunday, when the Church prays for all those who live

and work at sea. Without them we would not have many of the items we buy in the shops. Stella Maris (Apostleship of the Sea), is the Church’s official maritime welfare agency. It supports seafarers both practically and spiritually. Your donation is vital to enable it to continue its work, so please give generously and remember seafarers in your prayers.
