Whertec News Whertec.com is your resource for products and services 24/7. Innovation by Design Years ago, almost every episode of a popular TV show ended with the line, “I love it when a plan comes together.”* This is the same feeling the people of Whertec have been experiencing at the Whertec engineering lab and production center in Jacksonville. New formulations of our Tube Armor™ Ceramics, the continued development of the new LaserClad™ Overlay system and our refined automated weld overlay and thermal spray systems are all so advanced, that we have no competition when it comes to the performance of these protective coatings. For LaserClad™, our proprietary technology is based on two factors: real-world requirements and our insistence that we exceed the performance specifications of our nearest competitors. Whertec’s mission is to provide innovation and improved performance of boilers and pressurized vessels to the power, paper, steel and petrochemical industries. Every day, the mission continues, due to the talent and hard work of well-trained and dedicated employees hired by Whertec. Our talented team runs a logistics hub, warehouse, safety and training office, machine shop, inspection services lab, weld and metal spray manufacturing lines, blast booths and the world-class LaserClad™ Overlay Robotics production center with dedication and commitment. The big picture is that our facility is complete, fully staffed and tackling the most innovative projects in the industry. The bottom line is our commitment to you and the safe inspection and servicing of your industrial equipment. And we love it when a plan comes together. *Remember “The ‘A’ Team?” Summer 2012 Map data ©2012 Google Community Corner Supporting our community and business partners means taking time out to support worthy causes such as The Jericho School Golf Tournament, Tennis 4 Cancer and even a local pageant. Safety Update

At the last quarterly Safety Committee meeting we discussed the benefits for blast hoods with dual capabilities. We currently have a new design that will be evaluated on upcoming projects. These hoods can be used for blasting or spraying and feature a 100-percent seal with positive airflow. They are two-way radio capable to aid communications with co-workers and perhaps the best feature, they’re lightweight.

The Safety Incentive program has continued to generate growing participation and great results. By identifying and correcting potential safety hazards and completing required training, Whertec team members are earning “Safety Bucks” good towards merchandise and gifts.

Your Laboratory Results Are In…Since we began as Boiler Inspection Services, Whertec’s team of field technicians and metallurgical engineers have solved many problems and supported the innovation of new coatings and requirements for reliability. Observing, testing, reporting and documenting your industrial process equipment and the reliability of the materials we use is a cornerstone of our commitment to our customers.

The Jacksonville, Florida lab has acquired the latest portable technology and hardness tester for use in our production facility. It also helps monitor the manufacturing process and backs up reporting from the powerful computer numeric-controlled LaserClad™ Overlay robotics system.

We are pleased to announce the promotion of Chris Clifton to Safety Coordinator in the Whertec Safety Department. His eight years of experience in the industry, work on the safety committee and training is already making a positive difference.
