Our project invests the park more than it changes it in order to try to take benefits of this great space around the BU, to bring back the student life around this building which was supposed to be central in the campus organization. Through our project we aimed to be com-patible with the students lifestyles and needs. We wanted to bring an intermediate scale in the site while playing on the in-between, offering a true freedom of use, as expressed in the status of the student, between adolescence and adulthood. Our S module is available in inter-mediate scales (from micro architec-ture till buildings) by creating a re-lationship between the human scale and the scale of buildings. This mi-cro architecture can also function as free urban furniture, while facilitating the appropriation by students. This module lends itself to the principle of in-between offering an above / below ratio, with opposite views and installing some ambiguity on the inside / outside relationship. A coherent placement of these mo-dules in the park allows you to have a walk in this one and thus give a reason to invest the park for stu-dents through multiple possible connections between the modules with varied uses and environments.

AN ARTISTIC MEETING This work was produced as part of a body art teaching centered on the area between Villeurbanne and Vaulx-en-velin next to Lyon. From the first site visits boredom of the place is felt. My colleague and I then focused our research on the practices related to boredom. Then we have met on a basketball court breakdance dancers with whom we exchanged. Two of them, Mehdi Anoulith and were interested in our work. We explained who we were, where we came from and have of-fered them to work with us on this project. Was previously reflected the spaces we wanted to use, the poses were suggested by the dancers af-ter several discussions.

Empty spaces refers to boredom, where apparently nothing is hap-pening there. These places are re-vealed by the user who comes to live with his body. The photos were taken in gusts du-ring a dance movement, it makes it possible to feel the movement des-pite the fixed appearance of pho-tography. These small storyboards transcribe the film phase dancing, but for an uninformed public pas-sage from one photo to another may seem surprising, then he is free to imagine different possible moves that could lead the dancer move from pose to another. It will force the viewer to recreate in his imaginary the dancer in action.

Before dimensionement of the beams we obtained a maximum deformation of 22 mm, but for most of beams, a de-formed near zero . We have chosen to replace steel beams with wood for two reasons : -the deformed shapes are slightly more important but plenty comfortable -and the wooden roof allows a better integration into the site. To respond to the obtained defor-med, we established three different sections depending on the area, on the final structure the maximum defor-mation is then of only 2.3 mm.

The chapel forms a flaw in the rock mass of the mountain. The procession of pilgrims runs along a thick wall, turns entering the chapel, goes down the steps accompanying the gradient of the site ending in the celebration space which is widely ope-ned on the vastness of the landscape. The fault compresses or expands ranking the areas. Beams, covering the first spaces pu-nctuate the entrance of the pilgrim to the landscape. Farms of Polonceau contribute in printing of expansion space on the empty landscape.

1 - Crossing of two ruled sur-faces do not provide a satisfactory vi-sual proposal.

2 - Starting point common of lines posing the problem of node.

3 - Creation of an accident to open the building and create two new sur-faces set.

4 - Using the Polonceau’s truss to maintain the accident, carrying ruled surfaces remaining light in the lower part of the truss (subtended by cables).

RENOVATION OF THE STUDENT BAR OF ENSALVAULX-EN-VELIN - FRANCE

The original metal structure is taken (with the same profile metal IPN) to extend the mezzanine level by corridors going around the bar. the mezzanine is dedicated to a lounge use and corridors to see exhibitions or for free expression of stu-dents. Downstairs we find a space dedicated to the bar and dri-ning, which can be transformed into small concert hall with the stage created by the introduction of different levels. These levels can also generate a freer flow in the periphery, which does not disturb the public attending the concert. The spiral staircase giving access to upper floor is placed at the entrance that would not only mark the entry but also as be an articulation between the school, the mezzanine, bar, exhibition corridors, the stage and the circulation. Enlightened by the windows of the east and west facades, daylight is sufficient to illuminate the bar during the day. During the night for the evenings, light spot attached to the metal structure of mezzanines come light the scene and part of the public, while leaving the circulation in the shadows. Upstairs are neon lights provide diffuse lighting in order to view the exhibitions and enjoy the lounge area.

RESEARCH REPORTMIKAELYAN (1926-1997) ESTABLISHMENT OF AN ARCHITECTURAL LANGUAGE

ISSUE :

How to build an identity and architectural language in a cultural and political context as much complex as that of a republic of the Soviet Union?

OBJECTIVES :

- Demonstrate the architectural richness of the work of Martin Mikaelyan

- Demonstrate the value of preserving this heritage for Armenia but as well for the former Soviet Union. - Show interest that may present the cultural and architectural context of the Soviet Union, despite its contradictions and ambiguity.

NATIONAL HERITAGE

We spent two weeks in Armenia, between Yerevan and Jermuk, a spa town in the Caucasus Mountains. We have focused on the heritage from the Soviet period, choosing as a subject of study a sanatorium built under the USSR in Jermuk. The sanatorium Ararat is the work of Mikaelyan, Armenian architect whose achievements bear the pe-riod of the Soviet Republic of Arme-nia heritage with a symbolic value. We returned to France with ample materials from our analysis, research and measurement works. We were then able to develop our posture as regards this architecture. By cultiva-ting this heritage approach, our ap-proach has led us to develop project proposals across the country, the city and the building. The choice of this topic took its origin following the discovery and awareness of Martin Mikaelyan work through its buildings in the town of Jermuk. We had also been marked by the neglect which was under the heritage of the Armenian architect, buildings were abandoned while new pastiches hotels were built at his side. We tried to work his reha-bilitation through the own Mikaelyan ‘s references (Aalto), in order to in-tegrate the landscape as well as a logical urban development.

Through this competition, we aimed to response both to a functional pro-gram demanding, which is that one of a university and a museum, while meeting the high expectations that represents the symbolic millennium Armenian culture and the trauma of 1915. In this work we wanted through some sobriety propose a dynamic and ambitious project, giving rise to unique spaces that mark the visitor throughout his visit so that one can live a true experience, the result of dialogue between the architecture of the museum and its contents. We also wish to offer a correct and measured interpretation of symbols to illustrate the historical and cultural heritage of Armenia.

INTERSTITIAL MODEL COMPLETE MODEL

CompleteModel: More impressive , this model integrates a double height inhabited by a mezzanine, includes in its design the cohabitation of clearly defined several uses : consumption, exhibition (floor) and lives. This model is addressed to wider spaces of the city (wastelands , public places) .

Interstitial Model : Smaller, with longitudinal profile, the model intended to integrate between two existing buildings or narrow urban residue (sidewalk, court, banks , gardens , wasteland...) . This model is designed for the city and its small spaces.

Composed of a square plan with a frame of 6 meters , this model can be easily integrated into a variety of contexts both urban (public place, vacant land) and rural (forest, fields, nature) . The organization of the plan and its structure provide for a duplication of a first original module toward a second one , or even more , in order to integrate a wider variety of uses (lives, exhibitions) , or just to increase its capacity .
