All language skills are to be taught through these themes which provide the context for language learning. The Educational Emphases are infused and woven into classroom lessons to prepare pupils for the challenges of the real world. Therefore Moral Education, Citizenship Education, Patriotism, Thinking Skills, Mastery Learning, Information and Communication Technology Skills, Multiple Intelligences, Constructivism, Contextual Learning, Learning How to Learn Skills, Creativity and Innovation, Entrepreneurship and 21st Century Skills are incorporated where appropriate and relevant in lessons. You may refer to the DSKP for further references. This Yearly Scheme of Work is as a guideline and teachers may adjust the dates according to the school’s calendar. For further reference on the activities , you may refer to the Year 4 and Year 5 Teacher’s Guide which was provided to you during the KSSR English Year 6 courses .Please also refer to the introduction on page iv, v, vi in the textbook for further explanation related to the textbook. As for the assessment for Year 6, it will be based on the new DSKP .You may download the latest DSKP from the BPK portal as the one given to you during the KSSR course serves only as a draft. DAILY LESSON PLAN should include the following:

1. Focus 2. Theme 3. Topic 4. Learning Standard 5.Learning Outcomes 6.Activities 7. EE 9. Assessment ( if any) 10. Impact Enclosed herewith are also the sample daily lesson plan and suggested activities /the allocation of the number of weeks for literature as well for your references. Please use them as guidelines to help you in planning your daily lesson. For teachers in SK only 10 periods of English lessons in a week are allocated which can be divided accordingly e.g 2/2/2/2/2 periods in a week or 3/2/2/3 in a week and bear in mind that lessons should be carried out according to the modular structure. As for teachers in SJK only 5 periods of English lessons in a week are allocated which can be divided accordingly and should be carried out according to the modular structure. The weekly topics may take two weeks to complete the modular cycle for teachers teaching in SJKC/ SJKT. I hope these guidelines will be useful in helping you in planning your lessons. Here is an example of the daily lesson plan:

On behalf of the Englsih Unit Seremban District Education Office, I would also sincerely like to thank PUAN ROSMAH BAHAFEYAR from SK PAROI SEREMBAN for her time and effort in helping me to do the layout so that I am able to complete the yearly scheme of work. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Since the new format for UPSR will be implemented 2016, I do sincerely wish and hope that all of you will do your best in preparing our pupils, teach them the skills so that they will be well equipped .Please do not focus so much on the format but teach the skills and train our pupils to think creatively. I always believe if we teach our pupils well , we will be blessed in so many ways. Teaching is the profession that teaches all the other professions. - Author Unknown ***A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car drove... but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child.****
