Can you imagine a country having a Civil War? Well, that really did happen between South Korea and North Korea even America. A Civil war is a war between citizens of the same country. South Korea is located on the bottom of North Korea. America and United Kingdom supported South Korea and China and the Soviet Union (Russia) supported North Korea during Korea’s Civil War. America is located in North America. North Korea is so different from the United States and North Korea is a lot worse than the United States.

In America we have freedom unlike North Korea. In North Korea it is cultural unlike America which has a lot different cultures. America gets controlled by voting random people not like North Korea who passes down their leadership to their decedents who are men only. It is really unfair in North Korea because women couldn’t be the leader of the country and they have strict laws too.

During the Korean War, South Korea was called “Republic of Korea “and North Korea was called “Democratic People's Republic of Korea”. During the American Civil War, the south was called “The Confederate States of America” and the north was called “The Union’s States of America”. Korea’s Civil war started in June 25th 1950 through July 27th 1953. They started a civil war because they had a communist government .Then the country separated into two countries, one south one north. America’s Civil War started on April 12, 1861 to April 9, 1865 and America split into north and south but then the north welcomed the south to come back because the north felt bad for the south. The American civil war started because one side didn’t want slavery and the other side did.

A lot of people lost their lives due to the Korean War and

American Civil War. In South Korea 178,236 people were dead, 32,844 were missing and 566,314 were wounded. In North Korea 367,283-750,282 were dead and 686,500-789,000 were wounded. In America’s Civil War 365,000 people were dead and 275,200 wounded. Now South Korea has freedom unlike North Korea. North Korea is too busy improving their troops to a high level. In America we didn’t separate so it’s a good thing or else it wouldn’t be such a good country.

So this is how America and Korea are different in many different ways. North Korea saves all their money for their military because at night they have very few lights open unlike South Korea and in America there are lights everywhere. So you see why South Korea had a war with North Korea. America and North Korea wanted to take over land too like America wanted to oust the British rule which lead to American Revolutionary War.
