D u r i n g t h e o c c a s i o n o f International Woman Right’s Day (100th time since 1910), Zaman International school hosted a trip with Khmer and foreign teachers to a coastal

tourism area with natural beaches in the Kingdom of Cambodia. On the 7th of March, 2010 at 6:30 a.m. we gathered together at Zaman international School and left town at 7:45 a.m. by two rented buses. Our departure was delayed because of a problem with one bus’s battery. For the

two day trip we were divided into two groups (A and B). Group A, Mr. Srun Chansovan was the group leader and Mr. Kun Phan was the sub-group leader. Group B, Mr. Ke Chanmol was the group leader and Mr. Lun Bunturn was the sub-group leader. By the way, Mr. El Sophea was the manager of both

Finally, we would like to say thank you so much to Zaman International School. Especially to the School Director for supporting this trip and we hope that next year we will make another trip to another tourism area either inside or outside the country.

had a breakfast that was prepared by each family. All of us were really enjoying the different scenery along the National Road 4 and it made us forget the weariness the past workweek. Still enjoying the view we arrived in Sihanouk Vile at maybe 12:25 pm and we continued to the Mead Samod restaurant for a lunch that we had already arranged for ahead of time. We had lunch with Tom Yam soup, fried green cabbage and fried fish that tasted very delicious. After having lunch some teachers went to check-in at the hotel that we had booked already. Anyway, some of the other teachers swam and went for a walk along the beach. All Khmer and foreign teachers happily played football together, with the agreement being that the losers would have to be responsible for frying the chicken for dinner. We continued our playing and ate something there until 7:30 pm when we went on to

the hotel. Eventually group A's bus had a battery problem again but we solved the problem. After we arrived back at the hotel, most of teachers had a deep sleep in the air conditioned rooms, and some of the other teachers went to the seashore to catch crabs, and others went to the market to buy some fruit and dessert to eat.The second day, we went to have breakfast at Phsa Ler market, and continued the trip to other places. After we arrived at Otros we had lunch and swam. At 12:30 pm we departed from Otros and went to the Snake house that has many kinds of wild animals. But what was exceptional and fantastic about that day was that on the 8th of March (International Woman Right’s Day), Mr. Selmani, Mr. Enis, and other foreign teachers bought roses for each Khmer teacher to give to their wife or sister. We took a lot of photos of us clapping our hands to

At 1:35 pm we departed from Sihanouk province to Phnom Penh and along the way we stopped to buy some fruit to give to our families and other relatives who were waiting at home. Now, let’s talk about the male teachers who were really keen on playing some sport as they arranged a big group to play volleyball. At the same time some teachers were playing basketball also. in order to celebrate a memora-ble time together. Likewise, this year on the 17th of January, 2010, Zaman High Schoo l celebrated the first staff day for all staff and teachers. This was a very wonderful day and Khmer and foreign teachers and their families alike all joined in and had fun together.

We all gathered together at 8.30 in the morning, though some teachers and staff were a bit late. Firstly, Mr. Naci and Miss Rithy gave a welcome speech to us, then all the games were started. Some of us took some photos of this ceremony and the others started playing different games. There were more than 10 types of games played on that day.

One game we played was throwing and catching water balloons, but what we liked the most that day was the sack racing game we played on the football field. This game was lead by Ms. Goksel, P.E teacher. Not only staff but also the teachers’ children liked that game very much. We spent a lot of time playing this game. Then we formed a big group in order to t h r o w a b a l l b e t w e e n u s . Meanwhile, another group of female teachers lead by Ms. Vesile were playing "chasing ball" with the secretaries and Khmer teachers. Judging by the amount of laughter that was coming from that group, they had a great time.

Raksmey said that she didn’t expect to receive the grand prize and it really surprised her when she heard her number called.

Time flies when we are having fun*****. Time forced us to end that great day, so Mr. Osman called to all of us to come take photos of the memorable day that we had spent together. After that, all the teachers and staff danced happily to Turkish music before we finally ended the great staff day.

With snacks, drinks, desserts, various games, and with lucky draw the festival was totally awesome. ZAMAN has a great reputation in terms of organiz ing new activities for its students. This time ZAMAN came up with Summer Festival again. Last year it concerned only girls’ side but this time, as a result of great demand, it was organized for boys as well. This type of activities are held in an effort to enable students to have a great time, boost their motivation, support their adaptation to school, encourage them to learn new skills, and create close interaction between parents and teachers. We are happy to

The festival lasted for 4 hours and ended at 12:00. Having experienced all this stuff, students are looking forward to the next 2011 Summer Festival. q u e s t i o n s w e r e v e r y complicated. They looked easy at first but we often couldn't solve them correctly. Also, there were some tricky questions.After the first announcement of the scores some groups felt happy, but some felt sad because of their poor result.

O n t h e 5 t h o f February 2010, Our school presented a science competition t h a t c o v e r e d 5 subjects including M a t h e m a t i c s , Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computers, a n d g e n e r a l knowledge as well. It took place in Zaman's cinema room. Around 100 students were p r e s e n t f o r t h e compet i t ion. This c h a l l e n g i n g c o m p e t i t i o n w a s between the 10th and 11th grades. There were 4 groups; from 10A ( Sunheng Ty, Sintan Som and Sokly Ny), 10B (Lymeng Chhun, Rothsema Lay and Hangleng Tang), 11A (Dara Chan, Vuthourn Nhek and Beza Num)and 1 1 B ( V a t h a n a k Ponleu Van, Sopheak Ngeth and Panharith Khan) The competition was emceed by Mr. Mustafa Dur and Mr. Selmani Yazici, both of whom are Chemistry and Math teachers. And the scores were recorded by Mr. Nuri, Mr. Halil, and Mr. Naci.Most of the math and chemistry

Compet i tors became more excited and more nervous while

solving their questions. But there were still some who were able to do it. That is why the positions of 10E and 10F were switched while 11E remained on top.Continuing onto the 3rd section, students seemed to be a little tired as they had used a lot of the i r energy in so lv ing the previous questions. But their confidence and challenging minds made them sit straight up and go on to t ack le t hose remaining questions.Finally, the competition ended, scores were being calculated, students were discussing who the winner would be while the participants felt relaxed because they had done their job. But they did feel a little nervous as well while waiting for the results. Five minutes passed, ``the 4th place team is,is,is… 11F. The 3rd place goes to 10F while the 2nd place winner is 10E. Finally, the 1st place winner for today is 11E!`` Mr.Selmani announced.Big cheers erupted after the announcement; teachers gave out gifts to their students with a big smile and took photos with them. Science Competition For Girls

were cute and very small, but healthy.We took a picture of them. Then we went to see the chili which came from Taiwan. They were long and yummy; I picked and kept it to eat at home. Then they taught us how to plant tomatoes, it was easy. First we put the soil, then we took the shovel to dig into a small hole, next we put the small plant into the hole, and we filled the hole with soil. And after that we went again to training room. Mr. Hakan gave the certificate to the manager of the farm. And then we had a picnic, hooray! Only our class brought lots of food that made it into a ‘‘A real picnic’’. Then it was time to say good bye, a l l of us wanted to stay longer there but it was time to go back home. I wish we could have this fun activity again.

bought our tickets. Everybody was so excited to ride the 4D ga m e , b u t u nfo r t u n ate l y something went wrong with the machine. So, we waited again until the man was able to fix it. But, finally everything was fine. We were so happy and excited at this time. The game that I chose to play was the HAUNTED RACE WAY. It was our group who played first. I g o t o n t h e m a c h i n e a n d enjoyed the race. The game was really exciting and at the same time it was so scary. I really got scared, so I closed my eyes. Then, after 10 minutes, the game stopped and my other friends were also waiting for their turn to play. When everybody finished playing, our teacher took us to KFC for some snacks. We ate our foods for 30 minutes then after eating, we headed back to school. That was really an amazing experience at 4D game.Hooorrraaayyy!!!

It’s one sure way of releasing stress after a long day of studying and working.

Last Saturday, March 13, fourteen students from 1-A class enjoyed a golf game at Parkway Square. We left school at 9 :00 in the morning and arrived there after half an hour. The kids can’t wait to put their hands to the golf clubs. Since they are beginners, except Steven who started playing golf before, we tried the computerized golf g a m e w h i c h w a s r e a l l y enjoyable. Each student was able to play the game. The others, who were waiting for t h e i r t u r n s , t o o k t i m e practicing on the mini lawn near the big screen. They all pretended to be “professional mini-golfers”.After an hour of playing, we had our snacks at Lucky Burger. They all enjoyed the food. They even packed some food left for home. At 11:00, we drove back to school.Everyone wanted to experi-ence the fun again.

Regular days of P.E lesson, the class just spent an hour or even less than 40 minutes due to changing of suits before jumping into the pool. Therefore, the students are not satisfied of it. Then we went to book a hotel (a high class one). We were able to hit the beach at 12p.m. but my super duper homeroom teacher stabbed us in the back and tricked us, so we had to take a look around the city. After a short look around we hit the beach and some of our friends were too lazy to help the others to prepare the lunch. When the lunch was ready all of our friends came back from playing on the beach and ate (yum yum yum that food was out of this world! ha ha ha... and it was finger licking good).

After many weeks of planning for the trip to Kompongsom, we had made our last arrangements. The trip was on 23 January, 2010. Only 4 days to left to get ready but we could try our best. 4 days seemed a long time for us to wait but at last the time came.We had planned on departing at 4a.m. but at that time only some of our friends had come so we had to wait 15 min. more until at last all of our friends arrived and it was time to start our fantastic trip to Kompongsom. In the bus some of our friends started sleeping but we disturbed them and tried not to let them sleep. We sang songs together and tried to make some music of our own. On the way our monitor had a stomach ache, so we stopped and let him go to be sick. At 7a.m. we made our way to a place called Yeaymao and there we stopped and took something to pray and wish that we would have a safe trip. There is an amazing view there so we spent some more time there to take pictures and get some fresh air. We spent only 20 minutes there and then we hit the road again. When we climbed down from the hill we stopped at the foot of the hill and had breakfast. We took only 20 minutes to have breakfast and then we hit the road to Kompongsom again. At 8:45a.m. we got there and then we stopped at the market and bought some fresh seafood.

After that wonderful meal we changed our clothes and hit the water hard (we never forget the sun block), we also rode the banana boat and played volleyball. We went back to the hotel at 4p.m., then we rented bicycles to cycle around Kompongsom and explore, which was very good exercise for us. After that we went back at 5:30p.m. to have dinner in a restaurant near the high class hotel. After that meal we went to the hotel and changed into our swimming suits for the pool. Our

friends were going wild and they played hard, some of them close to losing control. After that we went to the beach again and set off fireworks with everybody at the beach watching us. After a half hour of setting off fireworks we headed back to the hotel, but not before some of our friends bought some snake to eat back at the hotel. It would be hard to imagine our room, you know what it is like inside a forest? Everything in the room was spread out everywhere because our wild friends had play fought

On Tuesday the 09th everyone was too tired to come to school. Even though we couldn't stand the lessons we still struggled through them. Maybe you are wondering why we were tired. OKAY! Let’s go back to the evening of Friday the 5th. After a series of very long lessons everybody was looking forward to a marvelous trip to SIEM REAP. We were planning to stay there 2 nights and 3 days. That night nobody slept at all because they were so excited and they couldn’t wait for the trip. Tick Tock! Tick Tock! RING!!! goes the alarm clock. Finally, the time has come; It is 4:30 so we have to get everything ready. We, the 10A class, met each other at school at 5:00. In all, 21 students and 3 teachers (Mr. Nuri Demirel and his 2 friends) attended this activity. After everything was set, we left school at 5:40. On the way while in the bus we all enjoyed ourselves and relaxed, some of us listened to music, played games, and some danced happ i l y and we a l l f e l t comfortable. Doing all these things might help us pass the time while we were traveling. Within 1 hour we had reached a place somewhere near kampong Cham Province and stopped to have breakfast. As soon as we finished we continued to SIEM REAP, where we arrived at 11. Five hours from Phnom Penh to Siem reap didn’t seem very long for us, Now that we were at Siem Reap we all felt a little hungry so we stopped at the Chaktomouh restaurant to have lunch. After this we went to check in at the hotel, which took us half an hour. At 2:00pm we went to the cultural center (or cultural Village) and from 2:00 to 6:30 we spent the time watching and playing in some shows. In one of those shows the actor asked for a volunteer from the audience. To our surprise he picked someone from among our class, Smey. They asked him to act the part of a prince that would marry the King’s daughter. And so he did, and we took a lot of photos when Smey was in action. After that we went to see the biggest show of all. That show was called “Preah

After finishing at the museum we went to have lunch at Banteay Srey restaurant and decided to go back to Phnom Penh; how sad! On the way back we took the Battam Bong route. This route allowed us to travel around Tonle Sap lake. We stopped at Battambong Province and went to our friend Vichetra's restaurant. His restaurant is

lunch at the same restaurant. At the afternoon we went to visit Angkor Wat which is the only temple that we could not miss. We went to every corridor and hall of Angkor and our guide explained its story to us. After that we left Angkor Wat and went to climb Bakeng hill to watch the sunset. When we were at the top there was a little celebratory s ing ing f rom Pannasat ra University students. They sang about the Khmer people, Khmer reign, Preah Vihear..etc. We took a lot of pictures of the sunset. It was very beautiful. When it was finished, we all raced each other to the bottom taking two different ways down the hill. It was fun but we were also being very careful not to get hurt. When we were all gathered back on our bus we were all exhausted again so we went back to the hotel for a little rest. At 7:30 p.m. we went out to dinner. When we got back to the hotel at 8:30 some of us went to the Night Market with Mr. Nuri. When we came back, we saw that our friends were still acting lively and they weren't sleepy at all, just playing PS2 and doing the same things again. On the third day, which was our last day, we had breakfast at the hotel again and then we checked-out of the hotel. Next we went to the National Museum. In the museum we saw various

All of our parents were there and ready to see their son’s face once again. We were all sad but the joyful 3 days seemed like just 1 day to us. Time flies when we are enjoying ourselves. That’s the end of our trip and we’ll never, I mean never, forget it.

We left Phonm Penh around 6:40a.m. We had breakfast at the Champoowant restaurant at 7:20a.m. We stopped at Pich Nil at 9:30a.m. to pray for safety on our trip and take some photos. On the way from Pich Nil to Koh Kong there were many friends and Mr.Yafes sleeping, so we took photos of them while they were sleeping with their funny faces. When it was 11:30a.m. we were hungry again so we decided to stop at Ta Tai bridge to buy wild pig meat with rice. Finally, we arrived in Koh Kong at 1:00p.m. We went directly to the Koh Kong resort where we were going to stay. After we were at hotel everybody seemed to be tired so we had a rest. In the evening we went to the market in Thailand by crossing the border and duty free in the hotel. After that we went to the Tamab restaurant to have dinner. After that we went back to the hotel and changed clothes, then went to swim in the hotel’s swimming pool. We swam there for almost 2 hours. We got back to our rooms around 10:30p.m. and some of us went to sleep right away. The others did not sleep because they were playing games till late at night....The next day we woke up at 8:00a.m. and we went to have breakfast at 8:30a.m. before we went to Safari World. We arrived late so we couldn't see the Orangutan show and we went to watch the bird show instead. During this show Mr.Yafes and Bunlong also joined in the show on stage. After laughing and enjoying the bird show we went to see the crocodile show but this t ime we watched without laughing because it was too dangerous. The next show was the tiger show. It was nice that the tiger could jump into the fire and obey whatever the trainer said. The last show was the dolphin show. This animal is the cleverest animal that lives in the sea. The dolphins showed their interesting skills, in the water

On Friday the 1st of January 10B headed to Sihanoukville to celebrate New Year’s Day. We all met up at school around 6:30am, It was 7:30 by the time that we started our trip to Sihanoukville . On our way there we bought drinks and snacks by the side of the road, and we stopped only once at Lok yey mao. Later, we all got out of the car and started to pray and then we all took some photos. A t 12 :30 we ar r i ved in Sihanoukville. We went straight to the hotel to freshen up and get ready to go to the beach. While some of us were getting ready, the o thers p layed some playstation2 games. At 1:00pm we were all ready and we left the hotel. At that time all of us were very excited. We went to Ocherteal beach. We had some seafood for lunch and it was very delicious. After lunch we swam and played some football. In the evening we had BBQ, which was prepared by Mr. Bilal. After we had dinner we set off some fireworks and also took some

The next day we ate breakfast at the hotel. We ate a lot because we were leaving. At 10:30am we started our trip back to Phnom Penh. Around 12 o’clock Mr. Enis called us for lunch and we went happily because we were starving due to having played too much. So we went up and started cleaning ourselves and then started having lunch. I was sitting with Sopheak, Mr.Enis, and our supervisor but unfortunately for Ratanak he was sitting with Heang and Ty Hor and those two eat a lot. Both of them ate a lot of chicken and Ratanak had only 5 pieces. After that the French fries arrived and those two ate them all and didn’t leave anything for Ratanak. I was so happy because my table had only 2 people eating, me and Sopheak. After our lunch finished we went to the rope riding place but on the way we went to look at some animals and we took some pictures under the UFO, which we prefer to our friend Jason. After a lot of long climbing we arrived at that rope sliding place. Ratanak was the first one to try

On the 31st of October the 9C class took a trip to Kirirom. This trip was our 2nd trip since the beginning of the new academic year. During guidance hour Mr. Enis asked our class where we wanted to go that week and we came up with two ideas. One was Kirirom and another was the waterpark. Some had voted for the waterpark but most of our class voted for Kirirom. Since there were more votes for Kirirom than for the waterpark, Mr. Enis chose Kirirom for our trip. 9 students and 2 teachers went on this trip. Sophea, Piseth, R a t a n a k , H e a n g , R i t h y, Sopheak, Punnreay, Ty hor, and Solin were the 9 students that went . Mr. En is and our supervisor Mr. Niyaz were there also. In the morning we were to meet each other around 7:00 am but by the time all the people arrived it was late so we hurried and went to the 3A bakery. When we arrived there Mr. Enis went to buy donuts and pizza for us but all that food wasn't enough and some student had 2 pieces because some of us had just finished eating breakfast before they came. At 8:00 we left Phnom Penh and continued our fun. On the way we sang, made fun of each other, played "Naruto", and slept. It took us 2 hours straight without stopping to get there. When we arrived there we couldn't wait to play and eat. After our homeroom teacher paid the fee we all hurried in and started taking pictures and running around like chickens. After we took some picture we went to the poolside and started changing our clothes and began jumping in the pool. I was the first one in the pool, followed by Ratanak and Piseth and the rest. Me and Ratanak were always teasing Piseth and we jumped over him so many times his leg began to hurt and we helped him get out of the pool. But we forgot our soccer ball and our drinks in the car so I had to go back to the car with Ratanak and then hurry back to the pool. After we had played a lot one of the workers there started playing some music, but the music was terrible so I asked him to play the music

but suddenly he got stuck in the middle because the wire got stuck. The worker fixed that and he arrived safely at the bottom and I was the second to try and arrived safely. All of us went down but for Heang; he was so scared he almost began to cry but he didn’t. As we went back Mr. Enis said we could try to paddle the boat, which some of us tried. As for me, I went back with Ratanak and Rithy to the pool and started swimming again. We expected it to rain but it didn’t so that was sad for us because it was also very hot that day. Around 2:30pm our homeroom teacher called us and

told us to leave and we started changing and soon we headed back to Phnom Penh. It was 5pm when we arrived but on the way we talked so much that we didn't notice it when we arrived at ZIS. When we arrived we started calling our parents uncles, and brothers to come to take us home. Thanks to our homeroom teacher and our supervisor for organizing this unforgettable trip and we wish that we can go somewhere like that again.

Saturday 27th February, was the day for 8a's trip to the Water Park with my homeroom teacher Mr. Hali and Mr. Mehmet. We came to school at 8:30 a.m. then we waited for our friends. When they all came after that we went to the Water Park at 9:00. There were 12 students that went to the Water Park. When we arrived

KFC with the teacher. And other students went to buy some food in the Water park. We waited for 1 hour to get the lunch. When the lunch came we ate for maybe 30 minutes. After lunch we prepared the table. When we had prepared the table already then we went to play around the water slide and swimming pool. We ran up and slid down many times until some of us had pins and needles. We played like that until

2:30p.m and then we prepared our clothes to go back to school. In the car we talked a lot about what we did at the Water Park and we were very happy. After that we arrived at school at 3:00p.m and we waited for parents to take us to go home. It was a day we will never ever forget. Written by Daro and Samedy.

8A Trip to Water Park

On a Wednesday in February we had a Turkish competition. 3 students from 10A participated in this competition. They were Diamond, Dony, and I (Dona). These 3 students specialize in the Turkish language. That’s why they’d been chosen to be the

competitors representing 10A. The first several questions were all answered correctly. It was a piece of cake. But we hadn’t won the battle yet. Some of the other classes like 10B, which were sitting right behind us, answered those questions correctly too.

During the second part of the competition it was a little bit harder for us. We couldn’ t answer most of the questions, even the song guess. So our score was less than 10B at that point. We got a little depressed. For the final part we also couldn’t answer most of the questions correctly but we answered the

group of people gathered to watch them.We enjoyed 4D so much we rode many times but always watching different movies. Then some of us went rollerblading while the others played games inside. We played until 1 o’clock, and then we went downstairs to eat lunch

On Saturday the 16th our class, 8E, arranged a trip to Soriya Shopping Center. We met each other at school and then went by bus to Soriya. On our way to Soriya we talked about what we were going to play and where. When we arrived at Soriya there were three students waiting for us there because their houses are close to Soriya.Then Mrs. Grace, our homeroom teacher, and Ms. Shirin, our assistant teacher, asked if we had already eaten breakfast. We hadn't had breakfast yet so we asked our teachers if we could eat in the food court. We bought coupons then we ordered some Chinese noodles or soup for our breakfast. After we had our breakfast we headed to the fifth floor to play some games. First, we wanted to play games but when we saw the 4 D theatre we were so excited and we rushed over to buy tickets for 4 D. We asked the ticket seller to give us the scariest movie, which was number 7, so some of our friends bought the tickets for that ride. We all wanted to watch at the same time but there were only five seats available at a time. Each ride lasted for 10 minutes only. We could see our friends riding from the screen outside. They were all screaming but we were laughing. They were screaming so loud that a smiling

On the 19th and 20th of January in the afternoon, some students of 8E prepared for our exciting day at the dormitory.January 19th (1st day) after school; we collected our bags and got on a bus with Miss Shirin, which brought us to the dormitory. When we arrived, we went noisily up to our bedrooms. We changed clothes and went down for dinner. When we finished our dinner we rested for fifteen minutes, then we rushed to the study hall at the 1st floor for some studying. Two hours later, it was time for tea. There was a very delicious cake made by our homeroom teacher, Mrs. Grace; mangoes, watermelon, chips, and of course, tea. We took some photos and watched TV while eating all of that.Our yummy teatime had ended, and we went to have another hour of studying. We studied quietly for a full hour. Suddenly shower time had come and we could clean ourselves before bed. But we realized that we didn’t want to sleep at all, we just wanted to chat. We made too much noise and Ms. Shirin, who was on duty, came inside our room and told us to go to sleep and not to make any more noise. On the morning of January 20th, we took a shower and went downstairs to eat breakfast and wait for the bus. We happily arrived at school and told our friends about the first night at dormitory. Monday was our first day at the dormitory. Pisey, Lyhoung, Sivhong, Poryi, Tida, Bonita and myself stayed in the dormitory all week till Friday afternoon. There were a lot of activities that we did in the Dormitory, such as cooking, washing dishes, studying, playing, singing etc.On the first day some students took their luggage to school when they left their house in the morning. Some students brought their luggage after school. Students who had already brought their luggage to school were driven to the dormitory by Mr. Mustafa Ercan because there were no taxis nearby. Other

students were dri ven there by their parents. When we arrived at dormitory our homeroom teacher and the supervisors gave us a warm welcome with fabulous smiles and friendly words. Ms. Sibel walked us around the house and showed us each room. The dormitory is very big and beautiful. There are many bedrooms and we loved it. Especially our bedrooms.Soon after, the dinner time came, our food was delicious. Teachers had ordered it from the school canteen. After dinner we helped our teachers to wash the dishes.Then we studied for 90 minutes. We had to sleep at 9:30, because it’ s the dormitory’ s rule, but we couldn’ t sleep because we were still hungry. So we asked permission from our teacher to eat something and she gave us only 10 min. to finish cooking and eating. Then we started to cook noodles for about 5 min. It was so hot and spicy but it tasted good, the teacher also ate with us. While we were eating she took some funny pictures of us.On the second day we woke up so early, around 5:30, to get ready for school because there is only 1 bathroom. During tea-t ime we were watching a Turkish movie and then a Disney movie. It was a bit late for us when we finally went to bed because that day had been such a tiring day. So we slept very well that night.That night is the sweetest memory for us, and we will never ever forget it: The next day was the day that we went back home. When we left school, we had to

go to the dormitory to collect our stuff, but we didn’t want to leave, we wanted to stay with each other. We will really miss our teachers and all the things we did there. 10-F At Dormitory

9pm.On Wednesday after school I went to the supermarket with Ms. Sibel to buy milk, yogurt and food to stock up for the rest of the week.Thursday after school was a special night for us because it was our last night at dormitory. We only studied for 1 hour and the rest of the time we were helping our teacher bake some cake for tea-time.We decorated our cake with an interesting design to say ‘’Thank you‘’ to our teachers for having welcomed us.

On the 13th of March, 10 students from 9f gathered at the new girls’ dormitory. Miss Shirin and a few other teachers had prepared breakfast for us. We were all supposed to meet up at 9 but we all met up at around 9.30 instead. When most of us had arrived, we all went for a look around the house. It was a big villa, much bigger than the old one; we all liked it very much. The bedrooms were big and even the bathrooms were big. We took pictures and then went back downstairs to help prepare the table. We had fun bringing all the dishes of delicious food from the kitchen to the living room. We waited for awhile before Mrs. Grace arrived. She arrived with big bottles of fruit juice and a freshly baked cake. There were french fries, pizza, sausages, cake , choco la te , o l i ves , omelettes, cheese spring rolls, and so much more. We all ate while laughing at the jokes we made. When we were about to finish, a friend phoned us to go and pick her up nearby. We got the teacher’s permission to go and pick her up. When we got back, we all waited for her to finish eating. After we all finished, Mrs. Grace suggested that we watch a movie together but most of us had already seen the film so we decided to play ‘’Ou’’. We all played except for Lyly, and with Sevde and Sevval joining us it was the best game ever. We laughed at the jokes that we made while playing. Mrs. Grace and Miss Shirin watched us playing with smiles on their faces, and we were all very happy to see that. We played for about half an hour until we decided that we wanted to play hide and seek. We didn’t finish the game because Mrs. Grace told us that there was somebody sleeping and she didn’t want us to disturb her, so we went back downstairs. We were hungry again so we asked Mrs. Grace’s permission for us to go to the nearby market to buy some snacks. Even though there were 10 students overall only 5 went along with Miss Shirin because we couldn’t all fit on only two m o t o r b i k e s . W e b o u g h t mangoes and some other fruit

to leave even though we wanted to stay longer. Viriya, Fanita and I went back to school to prepare for the chemistry demo that we had signed up for. To sum it all up, we all had fun and we agreed that it had been one of the best activities we’ve ever had and we’re hoping to have another fantastic time like this one again

before the school year ends. We want to thank Mrs. Grace and Miss Shirin so very much for all the fabulous activities we’ve had with them so far.

A Wonderful Breakfast For 9-F

is a good way to visit someone who is sick.He told us that he will definitely go back to school after 5 days. We had some drinks there and discussed things about our class, etc.

On Monday the 15th we wondered why our homeroom teacher didn’t come to school. Then Mr. Selmani told us that he was injured while he was playing footbal l on Sunday. That shocked us and made us sad. Mr. Selmani told us that it was a serious injury and he couldn’t come to school for a week. His absence has been making problems for us because we used to discuss and do things with him. If there isn’t Mr. Nuri beside us while we are attending school it is like drinking coffee w i t h o u t s u g a r . A l m o s t immediately we decided to visit him at his house. That afternoon the last bell started ringing “Ring Ring Ring” and we went to visit him at his house, which is close to Zaman Primary School. We set off with Mr. Selmani and Mr. Halil and at 4.30pm we reached Zaman Primary. We took the opportunity to visit our grade 8 homeroom teacher, Mr. Isa, whom we have missed. By the way, we were kindly welcomed by Mr. Isa and we took some photos with him. After that we went to Mr. Nuri’s apartment. We saw how bad the injury was he had gotten. Anyway, we said hello to him and asked “How are you? How is it? Are you ok?” This

All students are invited to join Science Project Competition in the areas of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology,

and Computer.

To join, just complete a project as described on the notice boards and submit to your related subject teacher until 21

April 2010.

Contest elimination will consist of two steps.First step; Top 3 projects will be chosen from each field of

science.Second step; The following week a student or a group

whose project is chosen is going to present their project in front of judges.

When students present their projects to judges, they are supposed to have a chart. The chart size must be 1.2m

As a final elimination first five project will be chosen from all science subjects . However, if any project does not live

up to standards required by judges, it will not be recognized.

The final elimination and selection of the contest will be held on Saturday, 24 April 2010.
