Dear parishioners and friends: Welcome Father Adam Cichoski It is with great joy that I announce and welcome a new priest to Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, Father Adam Cichoski. Father Adam is not only a new priest to our parish, but he is really a NEW Priest. Father was ordained in May by Bishop Sullivan and this is his first assignment as a priest. It is a great honor for us as a parish to receive a newly ordained priest. It shows the confidence of Bishop Sullivan in you, the people of our parish, to welcome Father and to journey with him as he begins his priestly life. For the past few months Father Adam was studying Spanish in Texas and Aguascalientes, Mexico, where he also helped in a local parish. (Aguascalientes, Mexico is the same city of the Orphanage for Girls that we help). I am confident he is ready to minister to our entire community. Father Adam is from Franklinville, NJ and is a graduate of Delsea Regional High School. He completed his seminary studies at Immaculate Conception Seminary at Seton Hall University. I have known Father Adam since the day he entered the seminary seven years ago. We are not only brother priests, but friends. He is New Jersey born and bred and a big sports fan, especially of our local Philadelphia teams. I know you will appreciate his goodness and gentleness. Please warmly welcome Father Adam and thank him for saying yes to the Lord as he begins his priestly life with us at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish. God Bless you and your family, Father Vince
No somos sólo hermanos sacerdotes, sino amigos.
Dios te bendiga a ti y a tu familia, Padre Vicente

October Respect Life Events
October is known as Respect Life Month – a time for us to focus on caring for life in all situations from conception until natural
death. There are many ways that our society tries to devalue life: by promoting the horror of abortion to the misplaced
“compassion” of assisted suicide and euthanasia. As a Catholic, we are supposed to be people of life – protecting it
for our vulnerable brothers and sisters, and walking with those who are suffering, so that each person’s life is valued – as it is in
God’s eyes.
What can YOU do this month to promote and defend life? 1. Holy Hours for Life will be held on Monday, October 23 and 30, after the 7:00 p.m. Mass. The Rosary for Life and a novena for Life will be prayed during the Holy Hours. 2.Our parish has adoration each Thursday in the Chapel from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. – try to come for an hour during that time to pray for an end to abortion and a stop to legislation to make assisted suicide legal in our state. (St. Lawrence Church is also open every day from 9 a.m. until after the 7 p.m. Mass for prayer!) 3. There will be a Public Square Rosary Rally on Saturday, October 14 at noon at the Gazebo in Veterans Park, Chews Landing Road, next to the Gloucester Township Municipal Building. This one is held in honor of the Centennial of Our Lady of Fatima. Come and pray for peace with our friends and neighbors and give thanks that we have the freedom to gather in prayer at a public park. 4. On Sunday, October 15, we will begin our October Diaper Drive! This drive will benefit Guadalupe Family Services in Camden, as well as those in need in our own parish. Look for the baskets at the entrances of the churches. Diapers and wipes will be collected until Nov. 1st. (Sizes 3, 4 and 5 are mostly needed, and Luvs are preferred). 5. There will be a Mass to Celebrate Life in honor of St. Gerard Majella on Thursday evening, October 19 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Bridget’s Church in Glassboro (125 Church St.). Couples trying to conceive, pregnant moms, and those who have given birth in the last year are especially invited to receive a special blessing that evening with a relic of St. Gerard. For more information or directions, call St. Bridget’s parish office at 881-2753. 6. Good Counsel Homes will have their annual fundraising banquet on October 26, at 6:00 p.m. at The Merion, 1901 Route 130, Cinnaminson, New Jersey. The keynote speaker will be Fr. Andrew Apostoli of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal. He is the Vice-Postulator of the cause for the canonization of Archbishop Fulton Sheen. For more information, call Mary Ann at 609-707-1725.
