PlanB have undertaken further significantinvestment in surveying technology tocomplement their existing range of services.
Measured surveys vary in complexity andPlanB have the full range of equipment totackle the most challenging of tasks in anaccurate, comprehensive manner.
Their services vary:1. 2D Internal surveys - plans, sections,
elevations, audits.2. 2D External surveys - topographical
surveys, levels, contours, changes interrain, etc. Building elevations.
3. 3D Scanning - internal and externalobjects, colour photographed andmeasured to millimetre accuracy at50,000 points per second.
SurveysSimple surveys start off witha conventional steel tapemeasure and electronicmeasuring device (Disto) asshown below.
The Disto is generallysuitable for distancesup to 100m (328 ft)
When more detailedinformation isrequired, we use ourTopcon IS TotalStation or Leica C103D Laser Scanner.
3D Scans, as shown oppositeproduce large amounts ofinformation that can be used toillustrate information in a variety ofways. The example on the leftshows site data as well as colouredheight information, in plan form.From this information, 2D CADplans, Sections and Elevationscan be produced as well as full 3DModels for BIM purposes.
Scanning can be undertakenexternally and internally, even inthe dark and is ideal forcollecting lots of informationvery quickly. Other areas of usefor 3D Scanning are:

Combined 3D Scans enable a view of the site, which can be rotated and zoomed in/out in real time…
Orthogonal views can be determined and then drawn in simple 2D CAD format for Architects…
Be careful not to sit still too long, else you will be surveyed, along with the piano, tables, chairs, etc…Full live sections and elevations can be produced, through many floors, just choose what you want and leave the rest to us…
