Treasurer’s Report
We are a non-profit organization
• Revenues increased in 2019, with growth in both Select teams and other programs
• Camps & Skills clinics are supporting core values
o Free and low cost clinics for increased engagement, increased our expenses
• We have room to manage growth in teams, players and coaching staff to fit our club values
• Fees have been held steady, despite an increase in expenses o Mindful of burden of sports programs on families
• Financial assistance remains available
• 2019/20 season revenues to rebound, assuming soccer is able to resume in a timely manner and families want to participate
• Total teams increased to 53
• SF youth soccer continues to be fiercely competitive for membership
COVID-19 impact could reduce revenue to $1,272
COVID-19 Financial Impact
• Significant impact with a long shelter in place directive ordered by the city
• SFVSC was the first club in SF to ease the burden on families and proactively offer a 25% minimum rebate for the Spring season
• Estimated lost revenue $100k, with potential of further losses if Summer Camps and Training Clinics are impacted
o Actual rebates to date approx. $16k
• Families will still be offered financial assistance for the Fall
• Club has continued to support staff and coaches
• Application for EIDL & PPP were submitted early
2019 Select Team Budget Breakdown
● Average Player Fee remains at $1,449
● Expense breakdown demonstrates the complexities of providing deeper rebates this season.
● Club has made a strong effort to support coaching and office staff during COVID shelter in place.
Financial Assistance
• $60k allocation for financial aid in 2019-20 o Based on financial need; family contributes a % o Ensure every dedicated player can play
• $9k allocation for STAR program
• Microsoccer has small assistance program o Continue aid for 2020-21 based on APBO guideeline
Vikings Formal Structure
● Nonprofit corporation run by an annually elected volunteer board
● All directors must be independent and receive no compensation from the club
● Outgoing board set the number of board members at Six
● Our voting members are YOU ○ Registered team players over 18 ○ Guardians of players between 8 – 18 ○ Coaches ○ Livescanned & registered Team managers ○ Club officials
