demand)– pH– Temperature

• Beach Eco-Watch - priority program/activity of the DENR for 2004
• 57 major beaches identified/monitored since January,2004
OBJECTIVEOBJECTIVE
• Establish baseline data;• Provide updated information on the present
quality of the bathing beaches;• Inform the mayor/owners to institute mitigating
measures to prevent downgrading and improve the quality of their respective bathing beaches and the environs
ACTIVITIESACTIVITIES
The monitoring program includes the following:a) In-situ measurements of pH, Temperature,
Dissolved Oxygen b) Sample collection for Total and Fecal
Coliform (TC/FC) analysesc) Sample preservationd) Physical observation of the surroundings
which may affect the quality of the bathing beaches
