F IR ST T e am 175 KickOff Experiences KickOff!!!
By Bradley Hornung
So this year is my first year on Buzz Robotics. Yet I still remember that first meeting for this
year’s team like it was yesterday, and how nervous I was. I was dying to do something great in tech-
nology and with Buzz Robotics, I am given the opportunity to learn from the best, and to share my
ideas along with seeing others ideas. And now after our KickOff everything is “Kicking Off” (no
pun intended) the game was released, and we immediately got into strategy, and now we are head-
ing into design. And also the way everyone’s perception of a common issue is so different, some
really interesting, and creative ideas come to play in our decision making on strategy, and design.
Though I honestly can’t wait to get programming, and Buzz has given me the opportunity to do so!

The fun at robotics has already started. This month we have a kickoff and many meetings. The kickoff at Chicago Sam’s was a fun experience watching the broad-cast live from Zach Boyer’s phone. They had plenty of food that has lasted in the fridge for a while. At the meetings there have been some con-versations going back and forth about strategy and what the game’s best scoring chances.
Kickoff Experience By Ali Kafel My first year at Buzz Robotics has been great so far. I’ve
learned many things in my short time here at Buzz. My fa-
vorite experience so far has been Kickoff. Kickoff took
place at Chicago Sam’s. During Kickoff we learned about
the game, which this year is Recycle Rush. In this game
you have to utilize totes, recycling bins and pool noodles to
score. Everything went well. We watched the game reveal,
which was confusing at first. Then we feasted like kings
and ate lots and lots of food-Yummy. After Kickoff was
done and our tummies were satisfied, we went back to Fer-
mi and brainstormed. It was a great experience.
