What does QR stand for?

QR Bar Code- QUICK RESPONSE CODEFast readability and large storage capacity compared to the standard UPC barcode.

Unlike the older one-dimensional barcode, the QR code is detected as a 2-dimensional digital image by a semiconductor image sensor and then is digitally analyzed by a programmed processor.

The OriginS• UPC bar code began in 1948.

Bernard Silver, a graduate student at Drexel Institute of Technology in Philadelphia, overheard the president of a local food chain asking one of the deans to undertake research to develop a system to automatically read product information during checkout.
