Nationally, nearly 50% of teachers leave before 5 years. In Kansas, on average 870 special education professionals leave special education each year. Kansas districts lose between 4

and 25% of their special education staff each year.

Topics based on survey of special education directors, mentees and mentors.

Kansas required 3 observations during year 2. Observations are not evaluative in nature.
