Project Timeline
Soft launch Primo June 2014
Establish a Primo Marketing Group from within the Library Service
Where feasible, reconfigure the user-interface and search functionality as recommended, December 2014
Formal launch of Library Search in January 2015
Coverage Full-text and bibliographic citations
No access to datasets and other non-textual resources (including audio-visual resources)
GALA, the University’s research repository, is not currently included
A directory of database coverage is available at: http://bit.ly/1tYAN5b
Current (Portal) Directory of Databases
An alphabetical directory of links to all the databases and datasets to which Greenwich subscribes or otherwise has access
The format of this directory is likely to change, but all users will still be able to access each separate databases (and thus be able to use their bespoke search and other functionality)
Access In the first instance, access will be via the Library
& IT/Computing tab in the university portal The link is actually a version of the Simple Search
interface:
Results are displayed within the full Primo user interface
Primo User Interface at 13.05.14
Emulates the colour scheme of the University web pages
Provides links to relevant other Library Services. Some of these are permanently displayed in the page footer.
Search Functionality: Simple
Allows users to perform a blanket search of all available content
Primo Central is the sub-collection of journal articles and comparable content (reviews, conference papers, etc.)
Search Functionality: Advanced

The (possibly multiple) sources of the full-text. Will link directly to the specific document.
Records for books with contain additional tabs: Locations; Reserve
Additional Search Functionality: SFX
Access to the SFX interface enables the user to locate specific resources (as here, a named journal), and to identify all of the titles from a particular vendor and/or subject domain
SFX is Ex Libris’ link resolver (which Greenwich uses in conjunction with Primo)
Additional Search Functionality: Browse
Browse Search gives access to several Library Catalogue indexes (i.e. it does not search the entire resource covered by Primo)
Record Management
Users can temporarily or permanently store references, which can then be migrated to citation management tools
Detailed search specifications can be saved (permanently if necessary), which may include Advanced Search and facet related refinements; e.g. early modern astrology Publication Date: Last 5 years / Document Type: Articles / Collection: Oxford Journals Online Users can also Sign-in to view and manage their Library record: loans / renewals; reservations
