Oracle Snapshot Standby Database

alter database convert to snapshot standby;

Logs are still sent to standby but they are not applied. DB is opened READ-WRITE.

Use for testing eg RAT workload replay

alter database convert to physical standby;

Any operation that cannot be reversed using the Flashback Database technology will prevent a snapshot database being converted back to a physical standby.
