STEWARDSHIP REFLECTION In today’s first reading, the Israelites are urged to love their neighbors as themselves. In the Gospel, Jesus spells out how we are to do that – to give generously to those who ask of us and not to turn our backs on those who seek to borrow.

The Knights of Columbus will have a food drive again during this Lenten period. You can make a difference in our church and community. Our food
drive will help the needy at our Loaves and Fish Pantry that is open every Thursday. This is a great opportunity for everyone, young and old, the sacrifice of giving to those who need food for their family. The Knights will start their food drive on March 1st and last to April 12th. We are asking Mary Queen of Peace parish to help us with the food drive and trying to meet our goal of 2000 pounds. Items that are needed at the food bank are: cans
of tomatoes, tomato sauce, crackers, canned fruit juice, canned fruit, tuna cans, sloppy Joe sauce, soup, ham-burger helpers and anything a family could use to feed their families. We also want to inform the parish that any knight would pick up your items at home or money that we could go and buy needed food items. Any questions about the food drive, call David Waldron at 356-4161. There will be boxes at the entrances of the church to place you food items for the food drive.

Doors Open at 5:00 PM until
we run out of Fish!
We are called forth from the desert to encounter resurrec-tion. Lent gives us the oppor-tunity to encounter Christ in the desert. With him, we face
the temptation to despair in the face of the world’s deep-est needs, to throw up our hands in defeat. In Jesus’ struggle, we find ourselves struggling: we are afraid of not having enough, afraid of not doing enough, afraid of not being enough. But, just as Jesus emerged from the desert fortified to begin his ministry, so too do we emerge from the desert of Lent ready to encounter the needs of the world with the hope of the Resurrection.
READY TO GET STARTED? Take one of the CRS Rice Bowl from any entrance of the church and prepare to walk in the desert with the hand of Jesus, helping those in need to encounter the
resurrection.
