Press START during gameplay tobring up the pause screen, and thenselect Save Progress to save yourprogress up to that point. To restartfrom that point the next time youplay, select Resume from the SelectMode screen.

9 Selecting a Scenario

A playable warrior with th icondisplayed by his or her portrait isconsidered a recommended warrior,which means that he or she will beat an advantage in that particularscenario.Each scenario has a recommendedelement, and recommended warriorscan wield a weapon belonging tothat element, thus deal ing moredamage to enemies in that particularbattle.

Heart Container--increases yourhealth gauge by one heart.

Piece of Heart--collect four tocreate a Heart Container.Playing as the warrior displayed nextto the relevant item icon gives you achance to obtain it during thecourse of the battle.

Use the Circle Pad to move in anydirection. Hold to break into a sprintand cover ground more quickly.

Once a battle starts, you will betasked with various missions.Complete each mission in turn tomove closer to claiming overal lvictory in the battle!◆ Tap the mission information shown at

Enemy troops spawn from enemykeeps and outposts. Proactivelycapturing these keeps and outpostswill give you and your allies a greatadvantage in battle.

If one of your allies is in trouble, tryto help them out . Successful l yapproach them before they aredefeated, and their health will befully restored.You should also bear in mind that ifan all ied commander is forced toflee the field of battle or if the AlliedBase is lost to the enemy, you willlose the battle as a result.

Once you have multiple playablewarriors, switching between themwill make completing missions andaiding allies easier. You can orderplayable warriors that you're notd irect ly control l ing to head todestinations or target enemy forces.◆ Tap a character icon on the bottom

screen (touch screen) to switch tothat playable warrior.

◆ Tap a point on the map on the bottomscreen (touch screen) to give ordersto your playable warriors.

Giant enemies have lots of healthand high attack power, making themdifficult to defeat. However, somegiant enemies are susceptible toattacks from a particular item.When facing one of these giantenemies, have a look through yourinventory of items to see if you havesomething that might do the trick.

After a certain point in the game,you'l l get an ocarina. Using theocarina will let your character warpto any activated owl statue on thebattlefield.

14 Keeps and Outposts

Outpostscontinuously spawnreinforcements ontothe bat t le f ie ld.Defeat the enemyoutpost captain totake control of thatparticular outpostfor your s ide.Conversely , if anal l ied outpostcaptain is defeated,then you will losethat outpost to theenemy.

Enemy keeps will also spawn enemyreinforcements and will block theadvance of your forces.

In order to capture an enemy keep,you will first need to defeat enoughenemies within that keep to reduceits Keep meter to zero. Once theKeep meter is empty, a Keep Bosswill appear. Defeat the Keep Boss tocapture the keep for your side!

15 Weapon Elements and Skills

Every weapon belongs to anelement, and some of its attacks willbe boosted by an elemental effect.

Water

An e nemy that isattacked will continue totake damage over a setperiod of time.

Fire

An enemy sent flying willexplode when it hits theground, causing damageto o ther nearbyenemies.

Lightning

Attacks inf l ict ext r adamage on enemies whoare in midair.

Darkness

Attacks inflict more andmore damage as youun leash cont inuousattacks against a singleenemy.

Light

Selecting a warrior bearing a weaponof the recommended element for aparticular scenario will allow you toinflict more damage on the enemiesin that scenarioWarriors marked with th icon onthe Select Scenario screen can useweapons imbued with therecommended e lement and areconsidered recommended warriors.

A t the Smi thy in the Bazaar,weapons can be fused, transferringa skill from one weapon to another(as long as the weapons are of thesame type).

17 Gaining Levels

Defeating enemies will slowly fill upyour experience gauge. When thegauge is full, the warrior will levelup, which means increased attackstrength and maximum health.Additionally, leveling up midbattlewill fully restore the warrior's healthand Special Attack gauges.

Choose a warrior you would like tolevel up, and then enter the Bazaar.At the Training Dojo, you can spendRupees to make the warrior level up.But remember, the h ighe r thewarrior's level, the more expensive itwill be to increase!

Create mixtures in the Apothecary toreceive special beneficial effectsduring the next battle. The effects ofa single mixture will last until theend of the battle.

First, select a warrior and enter theBazaar. Next, select the Apothecaryto transform materials and Rupeesinto beneficial mixtures.

In addition to the mixtures you cancreate you can also gain access topotions, which will allow you toregain health at any point during abattle.To use potions you must first craftthe Empty Bottle I badge in theBadge Market . Add i t ional ly ,crafting the Empty Bottle II andEmpty Bottle III badges increasesthe number of times you can usepotions in one battle. Your aim in Adventure Mode is todefeat the Dark Ruler.With each battle you win, you willunlock new maps to explore.
