As you will see, we have another change to announce. The Downeasters will be performing instead of the Sidecar Heroes. The Downeasters have been a hit with our audience before, and we know they will be a great addition to the show. "Battle" takes place on Saturday, November 5. Concert starts at 7:30 pm at the Franco-American Heritage Center in Lewiston, Maine. I will be running the sound board, giving your sound some "ambient amplification" just enough to fill the room. So we need to do warm-ups and sound checks the afternoon of November 5 in the concert hall. The schedule for sound checks is as follows: 4:20 to 4:40 pm, Saco Bay Jazz Vocal Ensemble 4:40 to 5:00 pm, The Downeasters 5:00 to 5:20 pm, TakeNote 5:20 to 5:40 pm, Talk to the Hand 5:40 to 6:00 pm, None of the Above Buffet style dinner will be available for singers from 5:00 to 6:00 pm downstairs below the concert hall. 6:00 meet all together with Stage Manager and Judy and Rick. Stage Manager will describe the flow of the concert - how groups get on and off. Then Rick will direct mass rehearsal of our finale, "The Lion Sleeps Tonight." Please review our arrangement with your singers before we all meet. 6:45 All off stage. Doors open to audience at 7:00 pm. Performance order for the concert will be: (first half) 1 Saco Bay Jazz Vocal Ensemble 2 TakeNote 3 Talk to the Hand Intermission (second half) 4 None of the Above 5 The Downeasters Finale (all on stage) "Lion Sleeps Tonight" We are very excited to be able to present this concert once again. Time: 7 pm - **ticket prices have been lowered to $15! ** Notes of Interest & Congratulations…………………… CONGRATULATIONS!! Dear Downeasters, A hearty congratulations to each and every Downeaster (wives, friends, et al). Your score at contest was impressive and I am so proud to be a member of the Chapter. It was so nice to see all of you and to listen to your sound!! When we left rehearsal, both Judy and I said that you were going to place in the top one or two choruses. You are working so hard and obviously have good direction and coaching as well as choreo. Keep up the good work and as always... It's GREAT to be a Downeaster Tom PS...Wish we could be at Pat's tonight!!! Tom Williams Homosassa, FL Congratulations Downeasters! Hi Northeastern District 2nd Place Chorus! Much congratulations to ALL of you for a fantastic performance at District this past weekend!!!! You made the decision to put a stellar performance on the stage and you did it! Your score reflects the focused work that you put into this effort, and you were rewarded not only by the judges' scores, but by the audience reaction. You took everyone on a journey - what a gift! By the way, thank you for the tears! This would not have happened if it wasn't for your commitment, trust, and belief. You are a fine chorus of caring, dedicated, and talented men, and you have a lot to be proud of. The journey towards greatness has begun! Celebrate well tonight!!! We are very proud of you! Love, Debbie and Larry :-)
