Dear Parents and Carers, Welcome to term 4! It was great to see so many smiling faces on Monday morning and students keen to catch up with their friends. We have another very busy term ahead of us however, the first few weeks will allow us plenty of time in the classroom before we commence rehearsing for our end of year performances and two weeks of Swim School.

Term 4 –Week 1 October 17, 2019
Sporting Schools This term we have two Sporting Schools programs running some Thursdays and Fridays. We are invited to apply for Sporting Schools programs and if successful receive funding for skilled instructors to run sessions with the students. The Sporting Schools programs take place in normal sport time in the allocated weeks. Stage Two Soccer Gala Day On Friday, October 25th 2019 Stage Two Stage Two will attend the Soccer Gala Day in Narrandera. All students in Year 3 and Year 4 are expected to attend. Transport will be by bus and Miss Wright will attend to supervise the students from the small schools. A permission note and lunch order form will be sent home this week. 2020 Kindergarten Transition program Our 2020 Kindergarten Transition program will continue this term each Friday. We have three afternoon sessions remaining followed by two full days in the K.1 classroom. 2020 Kindergarten Transition will conclude on Friday, November 15th 2019. Little Learners 2019 Our Little Learners program will continue for five weeks this term and conclude on Friday, November 15th 2019. At the conclusion of Little Learners we will host a shared lunch and present our graduating Little Learners students with a certificate. Family members are invited to join us for the picnic lunch.

Learning Support This term we will continue offering learning support to our students across K-6 on Tuesday and Thursday with Mrs Kroek. Updated learning support notes will be sent home to parents and carers next week.
Learning Support news Learning support is already off to a very productive start with all students returning refreshed and ready to learn!
Focus areas vary based on the needs of each student learning group and include sight words, spelling, reading, writing, maths word problems, fractions and developing efficient addition/subtraction strategies.
Some activities students have enjoyed completing so far include:
• fraction sorting activities; • colouring sight word dots by colour; • reading PM readers on the ipads; • practising our quick math facts using apps such as ‘maths slide’; • correcting errors in sample texts and adding adjectives to make them more interesting; • completing maths word problems and explaining operations used;
I am looking forward to seeing all the students continue to progress even more this term due to their hard work and dedication.
