BRIAN DEBOLT CAMP BAKER DIRECTOR

Hello camp families! My name is Brian DeBolt and I am excited to be returning as your director for another memorable summer at Camp Baker. Camp has made me the person I am today as I have seen firsthand the positive impact it can make in a child’s life. I have fourteen years of camp experience with seven spent in the role of director. I am currently a second grade teacher at Summerville Elementary and head coach of the Lady Wave soccer team at Summerville High school. I hold an undergraduate degree in elementary education, a master’s degree in special education and 30 hours in administration. My family consists of my wonderful wife of almost five year, our dog Sadie, and our beautiful newborn daughter Charlotte. When I am not working, I am most likely to be found playing soccer with friends. I look forward to another great summer at Camp Baker.

CAMILLE TOLIVERCAMP ADMINISTRATOR

Morning Carpool begins at 8:10am and ends at 8:25am, so that campers can attend the Morning Assembly. Afternoon Carpool begins at 3:15pm and ends at 3:30pm. Any children not picked up by 3:30pm will join the PM Care campers.

Camper EnrollmentCamp groups are limited in size, according to space. Priority is given to JCC members and once a group is filled, we will begin a waiting list. We will notify you if a space becomes available.

Camp Merchandise Every camper will receive one t-shirt with their registration. Additional t-shirts are available for $10 each. Contact the Camp Office for more information.

AM & PM CareDoes your family start early? Sign up for AM Care from 7:00am - 8:30am. All children dropped off before 8:00am will be offered breakfast. Need some extra time in the afternoons? Forms Every camper must have a medical form on file, along with an up-to-date immunization form. This year the medical form is with the online camp registration process. For the safety of your child, this form must be on file prior to your child beginning camp. You may mail, fax, or email your immunization forms, or bring them in to the camp office. Please Note: We can only accept children whose paperwork is completed and up-to-date.

FoodCamp Baker is a kosher camp, under the supervision of Kosher Commission of Charleston. As a kosher camp, we do not allow any outside food on the premises. We will provide snacks daily for each child, along with a healthy, kosher lunch for all campers. Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are always available as an alternative at every lunch. *In order to make any accommodations for special diets or food allergies you must alert the Camp Office in writing by 6/11/15.

Group AssignmentsWe assign groups based on enrollment and we divide them as evenly as possible based on age. We define “age” as the age the child will be as of 9/1/15. We define “grade” as the grade the child is rising into.

SwimmingTeaching a child to swim is a core value in Judaism. All campers will be given swim lessons taught by American Red Cross-certified Water Safety Instructors. Skill assessment sheets will be sent home at the end of each session. Additional group or private swim lessons are available. *For more information, contact the JCC.

TransportationAny time that Camp Baker campers will leave camp on a field trip, they will be transported on a JCC van, rental van, or a bus, driven by an insured, qualified, and authorized driver. Only children in Kochavim (rising kindergartners) and above will participate in field trips.
