Name Badges: Make sure you wear your badge for all food, educational and social functions. You will not be admitted without wearing your badge properly displayed.  The cost of replacement for lost badges is $5.00.   Students who plan to participate in the STUDENT BEE must register at the Student Bee Registration Desk.  Only three participants per program may register.  Prizes are $200.00 for 1st place, $100.00 for 2nd place and $50.00 for 3rd place.  Inserted  in  this  program  is  a  conference  evaluation  form.    Please  take  the  time  toward  the  end  of  the conference to complete the form.  Our goal is for you to leave here feeling your time and money were well spent.  Please let us know how we did.  THANKS!  The Self Assessment Exams are held in the Tampa Bay Classroom.  These are located on the second floor of the Hotel Tower Building.  Florida  Educators  and  Students:    Representatives  from  the  Florida  Department  of  Health  will  be  here Tuesday, March 7.  They will have a table in the registration area.  If you have questions about the certification process in Florida, please stop by their table.  They will also have an open forum session on Tuesday.  Refer to the program for time and place.

Anderson, Anthony C., R.T. (R)                Moore, South Carolina 

Anthony  is  a  certified  and  registered Radiologic  Technologist with  over  22  years’  experience  performing  Surgical  Procedures, 

Trauma, as well as Research and Product Development. Mr. Anderson has assisted in the development of over 22 Medical Imaging 

devices and  instruments. Anthony graduated  from the Academy of Health Sciences at Fort Sam Houston TX  in Radiology. Mr. 

Anderson has written numerous papers and articles on Surgical Radiology, Trauma, and Sports Imaging and also is the author of 

the book. The Radiologic Technologist Handbook of Surgical Procedures. Mr. Anderson has been the the Radiologic Technologist 

for the Seattle Seahawks of the NFL for the past 16 years. Anthony is currently the Regional Sales Director for CMS Imaging. Anthony 

is  also  a member  of  the  ASRT  (American  Society  of  Radiologic  Technologists  and  the  ARRT  (American  Registry  of  Radiologic 

Technologists). 

 Bowman, Dennis, RT(R), CRT(R)(F)                                        Marina, California 

Mr. Bowman has 35+ years’ experience working as a radiographer and a clinical instructor. He has found that his major areas of 

expertise are digital  techniques, positioning,  image analysis, and digital  imaging and fluoroscopic radiation protection.   He has 

developed essential material concerning new digital lower dose techniques and presents this information for MTMI, as well as at 

regional  and  international  radiology  seminars. Much  of  this  information  is  available  on  his  Digital  Radiography  Solutions  and 

FluoroRadPro websites.  Dennis is also a co‐author with Quinn Carroll on a textbook titled "Adaptive Radiography with Trauma, 

Image Critique and Critical Thinking". 

 

Callaway, William J., M.A., R.T. (R)                       Springfield, Illinois 

Bill Callaway has been involved in radiography education for over 40 years. He has directed both hospital diploma and college 

degree  radiography  programs.  Bill  earned  his  master’s  degree  from  the  University  of  Illinois.  Bill  is  author  of  Mosby's 

Comprehensive Review of Radiography and co‐author of Introduction to Radiologic Technology. He has had articles published in 

state  and  national  radiologic  technology  journals.  Bill  speaks  extensively  at  national,  state,  and  local  radiologic  technology 

conferences as well as teaching Registry review classes in radiography programs all over the United States. 

 

Carroll, Quinn B., MEd, R.T.(R)                                 Denton, Texas 

After 32 years as a radiography program director, Quinn B. Carroll took his retirement from Midland College in Texas as an assistant 

professor to write full time. Quinn has published four textbooks, a number of articles, several audiovisual programs, and online 

courses. Quinn has presented over 120 seminars in Canada and the US, and dozens of presentations for state and national societies. 

He served as a JRC site visitor and has served the ASRT on membership and curriculum revision committees. Quinn received his 

Master of Education degree from the University of Wyoming and his BS degree from the University of Utah, where he also obtained 

his radiography training at the University Medical Center.  

 Coseo, Marilyn K., Ed.D., R.T.(R)                    Pensacola, Florida 

Dr. Coseo is from Long Island, New York and received her training at a hospital‐based program in Riverhead, New York. She has 

worked on Long  Island and began teaching  in a radiography program in Reading, PA. After marrying, she moved to Pensacola, 

Florida where  she was  able  to  start  a  hospital‐based  radiography  program  and  then  a  brand  new  college‐based  radiography 

program. Dr. Coseo has been at Pensacola State College for over 30 years serving as the Program Director. Now on her way out, 

she is the Clinical Coordinator. Dr. Coseo has two grown children. Katie is a Critical Care Nurse working on her Master’s Degree and 

working in ICU in Savannah, GA. Bethany is a UF graduate currently staying at home with her three children. Dr. Coseo received 

her Associates from Reading Area Community College, her B.S. degree from Salem College in West Virginia, her Master’s, Education 

Specialist and Doctorate degrees from the University of West Florida.

Cowan, Mary, M.S.R.S., R.T.(R)  Cherokee, Iowa

For the past twelve years Mary has been employed at Northwest Iowa Community College as the Radiology Program Director. 

Before accepting her position at Northwest Iowa Community College, Mary was employed as a diagnostic/CT special procedures 

technologist at Cherokee Regional Medical Center in Cherokee, IA and adjunct faculty for Iowa Central Community College in Fort 

Dodge, IA. She received her A.A.S .degree in Radiologic Sciences from Iowa Central Community College, Fort Dodge, IA and her 

M.S.R.S. degree with an emphasis in Education from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, TX.

 

Cross, Kimberly, M.S.R.S, R.T.(R)(CT)                        Atlanta, Georgia 

Kimberly Cross is an Instructor with the Medical Imaging Program at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia where she has taught 

computed tomography minor track courses as well as diagnostic radiography courses since 2009. Kim completed her radiography 

program at Emory University in 2005, where she also obtained her Bachelor of Medical Science degree in radiography education. 

She obtained her Master of Radiologic Science in radiography education from Midwestern State University in 2011. Kim is active 

in both her local and state professional societies and is the current President of the Atlanta Society of Radiologic Technologists. 

 

Fleming, John M.Ed., R.T.(R)(MR)(CT)                            St. Petersburg, Florida 

John Fleming graduated  from  the St. Petersburg  Junior College Radiography Program  in Pinellas Park,  Florida, and  is now the 

Program Director  there.  John received his Master of Education degree from the University of South Florida.    John  is an active 

member of the West Coast Educators Council and has been a speaker at our seminars for many years. Mr. Fleming has passed the 

American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Computed Tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging advanced certification 

examinations.  John  is  a  dedicated  professional  on  the  local,  state  and  national  level,  excelling  in  communication  skills  and  is 

committed to the needs of students and the community. 

 

Gill, Julie, PhD, RT(R)(QM)                              Cincinnati, Ohio 

Dr. Julie Gill  is Chairperson and Professor in the Allied Health Department of the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College. She 

completed her radiography education at The Ohio State University, and earned Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Higher Education 

Administration from Ohio University. She is credentialed in Radiography and Quality Management by the American Registry of 

Radiologic Technologists. Dr. Gill served on the American Society of Radiologic Technologists’ Board of Directors for five years and 

also served as Chair of the Editorial Review Board for the Association of Educators in Imaging and Radiologic Sciences. In Ohio, she 

serves the OSRT on the Board of Directors, as co‐chair of the Leadership Academy Task Force, co‐chair of the 2017 Annual Meeting, 

and as the membership survey appointee. She has delivered many local, regional, state, national, and international presentations 

to educators, radiologic technologists, and students.  

Henry, Dale, Ph.D                        Kingston, Tennessee 

Dr. Dale Henry grew up in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains, an area that is bountiful  in two things—hospitality and story‐

telling.   Dr. Dale has been a teacher, principal, Dean of the oldest college in Tennessee, a businessman, author, a speaker and 

trainer.  Dale has been in customer service over half his life.  His story‐telling ability propelled him as a teacher.  This, combined 

with his customer service and unique ability to captivate audiences, has sky‐rocketed Dale in his speaking career. Since he began 

speaking just a few short years ago, corporate, government, and educational agencies call on Dr. Henry regularly to have him train 

their professionals.  His client list is a virtual who’s who of the top businesses and agencies in the nation.  Dr. Henry is a master 

teacher in every aspect of the term, and he is what motivational speakers aspire to become. In keeping with Dr. Dale Henry’s book 

title, The Proverbial Cracker Jack:  How to Get Out of The Box And Become The Prize, Dale is definitely the prize!

Hicks, Jay, EdD, R.T.(R)                              Chicago, Illinois 

Dr.  Jay  Hicks  currently  serves  as  the  Executive  Associate  Director  of  the  Joint  Review  Committee  on  Education  in  Radiologic 

Technology (JRCERT) in Chicago, IL.  Prior to his tenure with the JRCERT, he served as the Department Head of radiologic technology 

at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, in Monroe, Louisiana.  He holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Radiologic Technology from 

Northwestern State University, a Master’s of Science in Radiologic Sciences from Midwestern State University and a Doctorate of 

Education  in  Interdisciplinary  Leadership  from  Creighton  University.   He  is  a  strong  proponent  for  the  advancement  of  the 

profession through programmatic accreditation of all educational programs, certification and licensure of all individuals performing 

imaging and therapeutic examinations, and continued professional development.   

 Johnson, Jordan, MSHA, BSRT RT(R)(T), ROCC               Crossville, Tennessee 

Mr. Jordan Johnson is the Director of Compliance for Churchill Consulting a division of CruxQS. He has 10 plus years in the radiologic 

profession, with extensive experience as a radiation therapist and administrative director for Cancer Centers. He is a content expert 

with regards to radiation oncology billing, documentation, coding and compliance. He also provides his expertise on productivity, 

workplace culture and healthcare quality & financial initiatives. Mr. Johnson is a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Monroe, 

the University of Texas MD Anderson and the University of St. Francis. He is first and foremost a patient advocate and has served 

on many committees and drafted legislation to increase patient safety and treatment quality. 

 

Killion, Jeff, Ph.D., R.T. (R)(QM)                      Wichita Falls, Texas 

Dr. Killion is the interim Dean and Professor in the college of Health Sciences and Human Services at Midwestern State University 

in Wichita Falls, Texas. He completed his bachelors and master’s degrees in Radiologic Science from Midwestern State University 

and received his Ph.D. in Health Studies Education at Texas Woman’s University. He is an active member of AEIRS, ASRT, and the 

Texas  Society  of  Radiologic  Technologists.  Jeff  writes  and  speaks  at  the  state,  national,  and  international  levels.  He  is  an 

experienced educator of over 25 years. 

 

Kowtko, Christine, M.S.R.S., R.T.(R)                         Lakeland, Florida 

Chris  has  been  a Radiographer  for  over 35  years,  and a Radiography educator  for  over  25  years.  She was born and  raised  in 

Pittsburgh, Pa., graduated from Shadyside Hospital School of Radiologic Technology and received an Associate Degree from Penn 

State University. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Health Occupations Education from Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA, 

and her Master’s Degree in Radiologic Sciences from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, TX. She has had the honor of 

serving  in all board capacities,  including President and Board Chair  for  the Georgia Society of Radiologic Technologists. While 

President, she served as a Georgia Delegate to the ASRT House of Delegates. Chris has been a site visitor for the Joint Review 

Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology for 15 years. Currently, Chris is Clinical Coordinator in the Radiography Program 

at Lakeland Regional Health, Lakeland, Florida.  

 

Latimer, Michael, M.S.R.S., R.T.(R)                  Palm Beach Gardens, Florida 

Professor Latimer is the Clinical Coordinator for the Radiography Program at Palm Beach State College. He is also the President of 

the  American  Society  of  Radiologic  Technologists. Michael  received  his  radiography  education  at  the  Naval  School  of  Health 

Sciences and his Masters  in Radiologic Sciences at Midwestern State University.  Michael has nearly 30 years of experience  in 

radiography with the last 10 as an educator. He is also very active within the profession at the state, national and international 

levels.

Lorusso, Liz, MRT(MR), MRT(R), RTR, B. Appl Sc.                       London, Ontario 

Liz Lorusso is a graduate of the Fanshawe College radiography program, Coordinator and faculty member of the MRI program in 

the School of Health Sciences. Liz‘s research is on reducing radiation dose levels in general x‐ray imaging. Embracing the ALARA 

principle  for needed results,  Liz’s  research proves  that  today’s advanced digital  imaging detectors no  longer  require  the same 

quantity of radiation as film‐based x‐ray images. Liz presented her findings at the CAMRT Conference in Canada and the Association 

of  Educators  in  Imaging  and  Radiologic  Sciences  (AEIRS)  Conference  in  Portland,  Oregon.  She  also  presented  at  the  2016 

International Society of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists (ISRRT) World Congress held in Seoul, Korea. And, her work 

has been published in the Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences (JMIRS). She is a recipient of the 2016 London Health 

Sciences Centre Scholarly Award; the 2015 Chair’s Award of Inspiration at Western University Schulich School of Medicine Imaging 

Discovery Days; a 2015 Certificate of Merit from the CAR/CAMRT Medical Imaging Congress, the 2015 George Reason Memorial 

Award and 2013 Phillips Exhibit Award in MRI. Liz is a Board of Directors for the CAMRT and served as an expert peer reviewer for 

the JMIRS editorial board for two years, as well as a three‐year appointment to the College of Medical Radiation Technologist of 

Ontario (CMRTO).  

 

Martin, Jan, MA, R.T.(R)                                                        Statesboro, Georgia 

Jan Martin is the Program Director for the Radiologic Technology Program at Ogeechee Technical College in Statesboro, GA.  She 

graduated a very long   time   ago   from   Memorial   Medical   Center   School   of   Radiologic Technology.  She has held positions 

as  staff  radiographer  in hospital and orthopedic office  settings.    Jan has a Bachelor’s degree  in Healthcare Management  from 

Ottawa   University   in   Overland   Park, KS,   and her   Master   degree   in Organizational Management from Ashford University 

in Clinton, Iowa. She also serves as a site visitor for the JRCERT. Jan enjoys having fun wherever she goes.  She has been a volunteer 

for Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Center in Statesboro for the past 13 years. In 2013, Jan was asked to participate in “Dancing 

with the Statesboro Stars” a fund raiser for Safe Shelter for Domestic Violence. The evening of dancing and fund raising brought in 

over $80,000 for the Safe Haven. In   2016,   Jan   was   honored   by   the   Georgia   Society   of   Radiologic Technologists, Inc. as 

Technologist of the Year. Jan’s greatest accomplishments are her students. “I love watching them evolve from student radiographer 

to registered radiographer.”  “As an educator, I love seeing the light bulb turn on, when the student gets it!”  

 Montgomery, Ruby M.S. Adm., R.T.(R) FASRT              Ocala, Florida 

Ruby  Montgomery  received  her  certificate  in  radiologic  sciences  at  the  Medical  Center  School  of  Radiologic  Technology  in 

Columbus, Georgia. She holds a Masters of Science degree in Health Services Administration from Columbus State University. Ruby 

is retired from many years as the Administrative Director of the Medical Center School of Radiologic Technology  in Columbus, 

Georgia. She currently resides in Ocala, Fl. Ruby is a Fellow of the ASRT and a member of the Association of Educators in Imaging 

and Radiologic Sciences, and is a Life Member of the Georgia State Society. Ruby is well known for her many years of work with 

the Atlanta Society Student Educator Seminar. 

 

Moore, Dawn Couch M.M.Sc., R.T.(R)                                                                                Atlanta, Georgia 

Dawn Couch Moore is the Director of the Medical Imaging Program and an Assistant Professor in the School of Medicine at Emory 

University in Atlanta, Georgia.  She earned her Associate of Medical Science, Bachelor of Medical Science and Masters of Medical 

Science degrees from Emory University. Ms. Moore also completed post‐graduate course work in Educational Leadership. She is a 

dedicated professional working at many tasks in her local, state and national organizations.  She currently is serving as Chairman 

of the ASRT By‐laws Committee and as a member of the ASRT Bachelor of Radiologic Sciences Curriculum Workgroup. She has 

been a speaker at the West Coast Educators’ seminar for many years.

F a c u l t y .Obergfell, Ann M., JD, R.T.(R)                                         Fort Wayne, Indiana 

Ann Obergfell is Dean of the College of Health and Human Services as well as Professor of Radiography at Indiana University‐Purdue 

University Fort Wayne.  Prior to Fort Wayne, she served in administrative and faculty positions at St. Catharine College and the 

University of Louisville.  Ann earned her Associate degree in Radiologic Sciences from Indiana University Fort Wayne, a Bachelor 

degree from Indiana University Indianapolis and a Juris doctorate from the University of Louisville. Ann speaks at the local, state 

and national level on the subjects of law, ethics and practice standards in Medical Imaging.  She is currently the President of the 

Board of Trustees of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. 

 

Poelhuis, Debra, M.S., R.T.(R)(M)    Fleetwood, Pennsylvania 

Debbie has been in Radiography education for a total of 37 years, 25of those as a Program Director. She served in the roll of clinical 

instructor prior to taking her first position as a Program Director and she has clinical experience in CT, Mammography, Forensic 

Radiography, Trauma Radiography and Interventional Radiography. Debbie moved to Pennsylvania from the state of Indiana in 

2003 where she was the Program Director for the Owensboro Community College Radiography Program in Kentucky. She retired 

from her position as the Montgomery County Community College Radiography Program Director in 2015 which she held since its 

inception  in  2003,  and  served  as  the  program’s  clinical  coordinator  for  the  following  year.  She  feels  blessed  to  have  guided 

hundreds  of  radiography  students  into  a  rewarding  career,  one  that  has  meant  so much  to  her.  She  has  done  professional 

presentations at  the  local,  state and national  levels and has co‐authored  two  textbooks, one  in Radiography and the other  in 

Nursing, and has been active in national, state and local professional organizations throughout her career, serving in many positions 

on numerous boards and committees. Debbie is a JRCERT site visitor and served on the JRCERT Board of Directors for six years, 

serving as the Chair in 2014‐15. She recently had 2 trips to India for RAD‐AID and their women’s project “Asha Jyoti”. 

 

Posteraro, Robert H., MD, MBI, FACR                                                                         Lubbock, Texas 

Dr.  Robert  Posteraro  is  an  Associate  Professor  and  Assistant  Program  Director  of  the  Master  of  Science  in  Healthcare 

Administration Program at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center‐ School of Health Professions. In 1969, he earned a BS in 

Biology  from  Fordham  College  and  in  1973  his  medical  degree  from  the  Yale  University  School  of  Medicine.  He  completed 

fellowships in chest radiology at Yale University and Magnetic Resonance Imaging at Duke University. Dr. Posteraro’s professional 

career includes many years in private practice as a Radiologist as well as an educator with Texas Tech University. He is also the 

Medical Advisor and lecturer at the Covenant School of Radiography in Lubbock, Texas. He is a member of numerous professional 

organizations including the Radiological Society of North America and a Fellow of the American College of Radiology. Dr. Posteraro 

has been a presenter for over 30 years, and is a contributor to various books and articles covering the broad spectrum of medical 

imaging. Dr. Posteraro also has a distinguished military career, retiring in 2002 from the United States Army Reserve with the rank 

of Colonel and is a recipient of the Meritorious Service Medal and Army Commendation Medal. Dr. Posteraro currently resides in 

Lubbock, Texas, where his academic interests include medical informatics, chest radiography, digital imaging and his recreational 

activities include being a licensed amateur radio operator. 

 

Powers, Kevin J., Ed.D., R.T.(R)(M)              Sarasota, 

Florida Dr.  Powers  has  over  four  decades  of  experience  as  an  educator  in  the  radiologic  sciences. He has  previously  held  leadership 

positions  in  hospital,  community  college  and  university  based  radiologic  sciences  programs.  Along  with  being  a  longtime 

contributor to the West Coast Educators’ Council of Radiologic Technologists Student‐Educator‐Radiographer Seminar, Kevin has 

given presentations at several local, state and national conferences.

Sadler, Lynn M.S.R.S.,R.T.(R)(QM)                   Lakeland, Florida

Lynn Sadler is currently president of West Coast Educator Council,  Inc. and has been a speaker at our seminar for many years.  Before  entering  into  the field  of  Radiologic  Sciences,  Lynn  worked both  as  a  photographer  and  a pharmacy technician.  Not being completely satisfied with this career choice she entered and graduated from Lakeland Regional Medical Centers School of  Radiologic  Technology  in  Lakeland,  Florida  and  was  named  the  most outstanding  student  of  her  graduating  class.  She  received  her  Bachelor  of Arts degree  from  Warner  Southern  College  in  Lake  Wales,  Florida  and her Masters of Science in Radiologic  Sciences  from  Midwestern  State  University  in  Wichita  Falls,  Texas.  Mrs.  Sadler  was  Program  Director,  Clinical Coordinator,  and  Didactic  Instructor  at  Lakeland  Regional  Medical  Centers  School  of  Radiologic  Technology,  LRMC  Assistant Director of Imaging Services,   and is now happily   retired. Lynn is a dedicated professional and has been an ASRT member since 1978. She is always interested in student achievement.  She loves teaching and watching current and former students’ progress in the profession. 

Sandridge, Thomas G., MS, M.Ed., R.T.(R)                                           Chicago, Illinois   

Tom Sandridge has been a radiographer for 29 years, and began teaching in 1994.  He founded radiography programs in Atlanta 

and at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL where he is currently the program director. Tom graduated from Miami‐

Dade Community College with an AS Degree in Radiologic Technology in 1988, and went on to study at Oxford University.  He 

completed his M.S. Degree in 2000, and his Master’s in Adult Education in 2012.  He has published several column in Radiologic 

Technology,  and  a  textbook  chapter  on  radiation  protection.   Tom  has  lectured  for  numerous  local  and  state  radiography 

societies.  Additionally, he has presented at ASRT annual conferences, and most recently at RSNA in 2014.  

 

Sass, Jim, M.Ed., R.T.(R)(M)(QM), CIIP                           Lawrenceville, Georgia 

Jim Sass is teacher, mentor, professional organization leader, and a sports fanatic. He received an A.S. in Radiologic Technology 

from Indiana University‐Northwest, a B.S.R.T. from Medical College of Georgia and M.Ed. from Augusta State College (both are 

now Augusta University), and has resided in Georgia since 1981. Mr. Sass is passionate about Imaging Sciences and specifically 

Radiography. He has taught courses in Radiologic Technology, Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance, Sonography, Quality 

Improvement, and Health Information. He is very active in Radiologic Technology professional organizations at the local, state, and 

national levels.  He has been an elected officer or board member multiple times in the Atlanta and Georgia Societies of Radiologic 

Technologists, and has been honored with Life Membership in both organizations. Mr. Sass is currently the Dean of Health Imaging 

and Informatics at Gwinnett Technical College in Lawrenceville, Georgia – just outside of Atlanta. He has been inspired by many 

people along the way including friends, colleagues, and students.  He hopes that his actions will inspire those who cross his path. 

 

Skufis, James N., MA, R.T.(R)(T)(CT)                   Ann Arbor, Michigan 

Jim is the Clinical Coordinator of the Radiography and CT Programs at Washtenaw Community College in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He 

is a graduate of the WCC Radiography Program where he now instructs.  He received his Bachelor’s degree of Science in Healthcare 

Administration  and  his Master’s  degree  in  Educational Media  and  Technology  from  Eastern Michigan  University  in  Ypsilanti, 

Michigan. He  is  also a graduate of  the Radiation Therapy Oncology Program at  the University of Michigan Medical Center.  In 

addition to being an instructor, Jim is a CT technologist at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor. Jim has been a frequent speaker 

at  local  and national  educational  conferences on  topics  ranging  from cranial  positioning, professional  behavior,  and  radiation 

biology  for  students  to  CT  dose  considerations  for  technologists.  Jim  has  also  spoken  at  international  conferences  on  topics 

concerning radiography in bioarcheology. However, Jim’s big passion is forensic imaging of cultural remains and photography, and 

where better to feed this than in Peru!  He has lead students, technologists, and instructors from WCC as well as other colleges, 

other states, and other countries on seven research trips to the Osmore River Valley, Cuzco and the Urubamba River Valley, and 

Puno on Lake Titikaka  to work alongside students and researchers  from Centro Mallqui,  Ilo  in an effort  to study and save  the 

remnants of the ancient peoples of Peru.

Thomas, Angela M., M.S., R.T.(R)                      Henderson, North Carolina 

Angela Thomas has been an employee for Vance‐Granville Community College since 1997. She serves as instructor and Program 

Director for Radiography, and Dean of Health Sciences. As Dean she has oversight of PHM, MED, HSE (3 tracks), RAD, HTO, and 

NUR to include ADN, LPN, Transition LPN to ADN, and RIBON. She also moonlights 2 nights a week at UNC Hospitals as an Imaging 

Specialist. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and relaxing at the beach. 

 

Van Auken, Todd, M.Ed. R.T.(R)(MR)                Pinellas Park, Florida 

Mr. Van Auken is the clinical coordinator and instructor for the St. Petersburg College Radiography Program in St. Petersburg, FL. 

Before beginning his teaching career in 2006, he worked as a vascular interventional technologist and then many years in magnetic 

resonance imaging. He holds a master’s degree in Career and Technical Education and is currently a doctoral candidate for his PhD 

in Career and Workforce Education from the University of South Florida. 

 

Weber, Stephen, R.T.(R)                    Pinellas Park, Florida 

Stephen Weber is an X‐Ray technologist that graduated from the St. Petersburg College Radiography program. He is in his final 

semester working on his Capstone project  in obtaining a Bachelor's  in Health Service Administration. Stephen  is  the weekend 

supervisor of diagnostic  imaging at Morton Plant Hospital  in Clearwater, Florida. He also works as an adjunct  instructor for St. 

Petersburg College's radiography program.
