‘Boundless Mercy and Endless Love” - A
Lenten Retreat
St. Mary’s in Gatlinburg is hosting a three day Lenten
Retreat for the “Year of Mercy” on Saturday March 12th and
concluding Monday evening with a Healing Service. There
is no cost to attend this Retreat. The Retreat Director is
Fr. Sebastian Vettickal CMI a Carmelite priest and pastor
of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, San Pedro Ca, Diocese of
Los Angeles. “Fr. Sebastian is a gifted preacher and a
talented teacher. He authored a book, Jericho to Jerusalem,
in 2013. He has a Master’s degree in Theology and

Fr. Anthony, Pastor of St. Mary’s invites all to come and
share in this retreat to prepare in a deepening of the spiritual
journey that leads us to Easter Joy. More information can be

As we enter into the Second week of Lent, our parish family invites
you and your family every Friday in Lent to pray the Stations of the
Cross. Please join Father Jerry and us on Friday, February 26th at 5:00
PM to pray the Stations of the Cross, followed by a meatless meal.
Weather permitting, the stations will be prayed at our outdoor
stations along the river. In the event of inclement weather, the
stations will be prayed in the church nave. Immediately following the
stations, join in fellowship for a meatless pot luck meal, coordinated
by our HOSPITALITY COMMITTEE. If you would like to bring a soup or
other meatless item on one of the other Fridays during Lent, there is a
sign-up sheet in Shea Hall or simply contact Elizabeth -

The Society of St. Vincent DePaul will be preparing Easter food
baskets for individuals and families in need in the Townsend area.
The basket will provide food and necessities to prepare an Easter
meal. If you know someone who would like an Easter food basket,
please call SVDP, 312-0141. If you would like to make a
contribution for Easter baskets, please place your donation in the
“Poor Box.” Your generosity is appreciated.
SVDP meets the first and third Wednesday at 5 pm in the Parish
Resource Center. All are welcome.

Tuesday Prayer Sessions for Lent 2016 The Council of Catholic Women (CCW) at St. Francis of Assisi
Church, Townsend, invites you to meet for any/all of these
upcoming Centering Prayer and Lectio Divina Sessions on
Tuesdays: 2/9, 2/16, 2/23, 3/1, 3/8 and 3/15 from 6:30-7:45
PM at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Townsend.
Twenty minutes of silent centering (meditation) prayer is
followed by the time honored practice of Lectio Divina (sacred
reading) focusing on the Gospel reading of the upcoming
Sunday.
As we continue the Holy Year of Mercy, CCW members and
friends are invited to join us for any/all of these times of prayer
and reflection to enrich our spiritual journeys.
