Wellbeing and Health In – Reach Nurse
The Tumut Wellbeing and Health In-Reach Nurse Coordinator aims to facilitate and improve service
coordination between the health and education sector and identify, support and promote the social and
emotional needs of school aged children in the school setting.
The position will be based at the Tumut High School for the next two years and provides out-reach to
local schools within the area. Linking children and family to essential health services and promoting and
supporting health and wellbeing through early intervention and holistic care can optimise learning and
engagement in schools. Referrals can be made by parents, students and teachers through the school or
contacting the nurse coordinator on 0436 605 371
Welcome to the Franklin Family, Kindergarten 2019!
2019 Kindergarten students visited Franklin Public School for the annual Kindergarten Expo. The
Kindergarten classrooms were abuzz with excitement as the children met new friends and familiarised
themselves with their new surroundings.
While the children were involved in learning opportunities, the parents met with staff in the hall to
discuss school procedures and learn about the range of programs which their children will be engaged in
next year.
The Franklin staff each had information booths which highlighted a facet of Franklin’s diverse initiatives
across the K-6 arena. This ranged from the Kindergarten literacy program, our tiered Numeracy activities,
PBL Values, aspects of HOW2Learn, sporting events, to
information about the school band and choir opportunities.
The new students are looking forward to visiting Franklin again
during the Kindergarten Orientation Program offered later in the
school year.
More information about the Kindergarten Orientation Program
and booking a Franklin School Tours is available by calling the
school office on (02) 6947 1533 or coming in to speak with the
executive team.
CELEBRATING FRANKLIN!

Franklin Netballers Show their Team Colours
Last Monday, the Franklin netball team travelled to Temora to
compete in the 3rd and 4th round of the PSSA knockout.
The girls played exceptionally well, working together as a team to
take down Temora West with a 35-8 victory. This brought the girls
into the 4th round to play against Temora Public School.
Again, the girls showed their talents with Mia defending
extremely well, with Kaitlin and Allie shooting accurately. In the
mid court, Sienna and Jayda forced many turnovers.
Unfortunately the competition was too strong and Temora won
this game.
As a result the girls are now out of the knockout competition, but they played with gusto to make it into the 4th round of the knockout
competition.
Sydney Grammar School Concert Band to visit Franklin
Band members are excited about the upcoming visit from the Sydney Grammar School
Concert Band on Tuesday July 3rd. They will perform for us and work with our band
students. In the lead up to this event all band members are asked to practice at least
three times a week, and parents are asked to sign practice books each week.
A reminder that clarinet reeds are available from the office for $4 each.
Highlands Cross Country
On Friday the 8th June, 17 students from across our school travelled to the
Tumbarumba Racecourse for the 2018 Highlands Cross Country.
It was a wet and miserable day but this didn’t stop our students from
representing our school with pride and determination. While all students
achieved outstanding results in their races, special mention must go to
Will Jamieson (8/9 Year Old Boys), Angelina Winner (10 Year Old Girls) and
Matthew Ferguson (11 Year Old Boys) for finishing in the top four of their
respective races. They are now off to Gundagai for the Riverina Cross
Country on Thursday the 14th June (this week). All students are to be
commended for their behaviour at the carnival and a massive thank you
goes to the parents who helped Mr Crane on the day.
