Was it possible to sum them all up in one general principle? Today when we think about our daily lives we might think: who has created such a big number of laws, codes and norms? Who is able to remember it all? Every aspect and every moment of our life is marked by regulation and law. The work procedures, the road rules, the tax law, the civil law, the WHS (which I like very much) and family law, the canon law, conventions, statutes, ordinances, regulations and at higher levels the diplomatic protocols or the liturgical ceremonies. All these laws order and regulate coexistence within families, our community and society, etc.… Laws, norms and regulations are everywhere. They surround us all the time and whether we like it or not we have to obey them. Sometimes the scale of directives, prohibitions and instructions is a cause of stress and a headache for many people today as it was in Jesus’ time. But was it that way from the beginning? The cause for the necessity of law is sin. Sin takes LOVE away from us. In today’s Gospel Jesus shows us that love is that reality with which we can overcome sin and then the law will become not a burden but a sign of concern for others. Ultimately, as St Paul has tried to explain in his letters, it is not the fulfilment of the law which saves us, but the grace of God, and his love for us. Let us listen to God and seek his love, and we will be able to love God, ourselves and other people. Youth Section

What is NET Ministry?

NET stands for “National Evangelisation Team” and in Australia started in 1988 with a singular team and a

van. Young adults and recent school leavers between the ages of 17-30 apply to be involved in a year of service

around the country and are given intensive and extensive training that equip them for a lifetime of professional

speaking and administering skills. These young people are extraordinarily gifted and already play such a vital role in the climate of the Australian Church, but in particular to young people.

Our parish is blessed to welcome the National Team to run this week’s Youth Group at Mary Immaculate.

We thank the team for their selfless service and commitment to spreading the joy of the church and wish them safe travels and guidance throughout the rest of the year and their future

endeavours!

PROCESSIONAL HYMN

Gather Us In Here in this place new light is streaming, now is the darkness vanished away, see, in this space our fears and our dreamings

brought here to you in the light of this day.

Gather us in, the lost and forsaken, gather us in, the blind and the lame;

call to us now and we shall awaken, we shall arise at the sound of our name.

We are the young our lives are a myst’ry, we are the old who yearn for your face. We have been sung throughout all of hist’ry, Called to be light to the whole human race.

Gather us in, the rich and the haughty gather us in, the proud and the strong, give us a heart so meek and so lowly, give us the courage to enter the song. © 1952 Marty Haugen GIA Publications

GIFTS PROCESSION

Prayer of St Francis Make me a channel of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me bring your love. Where there is injury,

your pardon, Lord and where there's doubt, true faith in you.

Make me a channel of your peace, where there's despair in life, let me bring hope, where there is darkness, only light, and where there's sadness, ever joy.

Oh, Master grant that I may never seek so much to be consoled, as to console, to be understood, as to understand to be loved, as to love with all my soul. Copyright © 1967 Sebastian Temple OCP Publications

We proclaim your Death, O Lord, and profess your Resurrection, until you

COMMUNION PROCESSION

Gift of Finest Wheat Refrain: You satisfy the hungry heart with gift of finest wheat;

Come give to us, O saving Lord, the bread of life to eat.

As when the shepherd calls his sheep they know and heed his voice; So when you call your family, Lord, we follow and rejoice. R

With joyful lips we sing to you our praise and gratitude, that you should count us worthy, Lord, to share this heav’nly food. R

Is not the cup we bless and share the blood of Christ out poured? Do not one cup, one loaf, declare our oneness in the Lord? R

The myst’ry of your presence, Lord, no mortal tongue can tell: whom all the world can not contain comes in our hearts to dwell. R
