    Abstract How to setup WebAccess BACNet Server and Client

    Problem Description:

    This document describes how to setup WebAccess BACnet Server, then use both BACbeat and

    WebAccess BACnet J driver to read.

    System Structure:

    WebAccess BACNet Server (192.168.0.101) – TCP/IP – 3rd Party (192.168.0.102)

    Software:

    - WebAccess BACNet Server (step 1)

    - BASPro (step 2 ~ 3)

    - BACBeat (step 4 ~ 5)

    - WebAccess BACNet Client (step 6 ~ 10)

    Brief Solution - Step by Step:

    1. WebAccess BACNet Server Configuration

    Enter “Name” and “NodeInstance”

    Note: Node Instance is Device ID, and this ID must be unique.

    Name: abc1 (this tag name should already exist in this project)

    AO Object: Instance Number = 1

    Name: abc2 (this tag name should already exist in this project)

    AO Object: Instance Number = 2

    Name: abc3 (this tag name should already exist in this project)

    AO Object: Instance Number = 3

    Remember to download the project when configuration is completed.

    2. BASPro (Advantech BACnet device programming tool)

    Detect WebAccess BACnet Server and confirm its Device ID.

    Successfully detect WebAccess BACnet Server

    Note: BACnet Explorer and BACbeat can’t run at the same time. The second one will fail in detect

    WebAccess BACnet Server.

    3. Turn off BACnet Explorer

    4. Run BACbeat (3rd party BACnet client software)

    To detect WebAccess BACNet Server:

    Define BACbeat its own Device Instance and IP Address:

    Modify BACDOC.INI in c:\windows

    Note: Device Instance is an unique ID for each BACnet device.

    Enter “Device Instance” of WebAccess BACNet Server Number (NodeInstance)

    Click “ReadAll” will be able to get all device info

    Click “Object List” will be able to find out all IO tags

    Read Object Instance 2 (e.g. AO Channel 2) value

    Modify Object Instance 2 value to 30

    Note: success will return “OK”

    WebAccess Tag Info

    5. Turn off BACBeat

    6. and start to configure WebAccess BACnet Client

    Important: WebAccess BACnet Server and WebAccess BACnet Client CAN run in the same computer.
