Vol. XXXV No. 46 December 9, 2015
Come one, bring all to The Heart of Christmas presentation Sunday evening, December 13 at 5:00 PM! The message is meant to be
heard by folks of all ages. As Christmas approaches, taking the time to stop and reflect on why we give gifts is important. The songs are not your typical Christmas cantata type of songs or hymns; the mu-sic is different, but the message is the same. Do you know of some-one that needs to hear this message that you could invite to come with you? We’ll begin with the magi following the Star of Wonder,
asking Mary, Did You Know, celebrating Jesus’ birth with Jesus, Messiah, being awestruck with Jesus, Holy Savior, giving our hearts
with Prince of Peace, and finally sharing our desire to stand una-shamed with What We Believe. The program will end with all of us singing Festival of Carols.
The initial plan to have children, youth, and college students as part of this presentation did not become a reality. That is all right—the best made plans are not always what God has in mind for
us. Bring young and old kids and prepare yourself for an hour of worship while celebrating The Heart of Christmas!
Missions in a Hostile World
On January 29-31, 2016, Nik and Ruth Ripken will be leading us in a weekend missions conference. Nik is the author of The Insanity of God and The Insanity of Obedience. He has researched over 60 countries, documenting the persecuted church. He has lived in the midst of chaos and faced suffering in his own family, the realities of war around him, and the systematic destruction of the work he felt called to do. At times the evil was over-whelming. To prepare for this opportunity, we are making The Insanity of God available, which Nik recommends so that each participant can gain as much as possible from our brief time together. Missions in a hostile world is here! Buy the book (a $12 suggested donation) and get ready to be challenged.
All FBC members will have the opportunity to vote by paper ballot on the FBC 2016 Proposed Operating Budget and WMO Budget
this Sunday, December 13 during both morning worship services.
