RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
In the last few months, several parishes in the archdiocese have reported email scams, which
appear to come from the Pastor asking for money. At quick glance the email resembles a valid
email address but in fact, it is not. These email phishing scams falsely identify themselves as the
pastor of the parish. Several of our parishioners and even a few employees of our parish have
reported getting emails and even text messages from people appearing to be me, asking for
donations of gift cards or just to simply respond to the email. THIS IS A SCAM. Under no
circumstances would I ask for donations in this way. If you have responded to any of these
messages, consider changing your email passwords to ensure your own account safety.
The Annunciation Women's Guild will
hold their October General Membership
Meeting on Tuesday, October 8th, at 5:30pm
in Holy Spirit Church Hall. We will have a Pot
Luck dinner, followed by a speaker. Members
are asked to bring and share a family size
portion of a food item of their choice, and the
appropriate serving utensil. Please label your
serving plate and utensil with your name. In
recognition of October being Breast Cancer
Awareness Month, we will have a speaker
from the Helen and Harry Gray Cancer
Center.
Please join us for this evening in unity
and fellowship as we fill ourselves
with food and knowledge.

Annunciation Parish Sick List/Readings/Vocations
Jesus’ parable to the Pharisees creates a
broad perspective that those who are blind to
the poor and deaf to the prophets will also be
blind and deaf to the Resurrection of Jesus.
Take a firm hold on the everlasting life to
which you are called.
If you are being called as a priest or
religious, contact Fr. Michael Casey,
Director of Vocations, Pastoral Center,
860-761-7456, e-mail [email protected]
or visit the web at www.hartfordpriest.com.
