New Tax Benefit For Private Schools St. Ambrose School would like to share important information pertaining to the changes in the tax code, which now allows MOST 529 plans to be used to pay for Catholic school tuition. Any family member can contribute to a child's MOST account and receive a tax benefit. To better understand this new benefit, we have a representative coming to St. Ambrose to explain the new law and answer any questions you may have.

The representative will be at St. Ambrose on January 24 in the cafeteria. The presentation will begin at 6:30 PM.

Please consider coming to see how the new law could benefit you. If you know of others that are not part of St. Ambrose who may be interested, please invite them as well.

SCHOOL NEWS St.  Ambrose  School’s  website  and  Facebook  pages  are  a  great  way  to  learn

more  about  all  of  the  exciting  experiences  happening  in  our  school!  Check  them  out  at  http://school.stambroseonthehill.com/

The fifth graders’ winter adventure took them to the Old Chain of Rocks Bridge to learn about eagles and see them in their natural habitat.

W is for winter. PreK-4 has been reading and learning about winter and snow. They wanted to make their own snowman inside. They used water balloons to make three spheres. The class predicted it would be frozen by 9 am but they had to adjust their prediction. It was finally frozen at 2pm. The next day using three frozen water balloons, they constructed the snowman and added eyes, nose, mouth, scarf and buttons. They made predictions and journaled throughout the day as he melted. By noon, the snowman had a neck and was turned in a different direction. He was leaning backwards by the end of the day. Right after dismissal, he was found lying down but still intact. The children could not wait to see what was left the next day and all that was left was water.

Hill Neighborhood Contest Winner We have a winner in our contest “Where in the Hill Neighborhood Center is the picture of Monsignor Bommarito before he was a priest?” The winner of the $20.00 gift certificate to the excellent Bartilino Family Resturants is

Steve Gianino. Congratulations, Steve. We just wanted to thank all who participated in our contest and especially the Saracino family for providing the wonderful gift certificate.
