'These are undoubtedly the best films of

performance teaching that I have ever seen'.

Sir Curtis Price, Principal. The Royal Academy of Music, London.

Masterclasses with the world's great musicians The Masterclass Media Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation which is filming and recording some of the world's greatest musicians teaching and holding masterclasses. It is filming a minimum of 30 hours of masterclasses a year to the highest professional standards. As a teaching resource these DVDs have proved to be both stimulating and effective. Now students throughout the world have the chance to be inspired by the

insights and secrets of these great masters.

Academic Subscriptions These DVDs are available to academic institutions, giving them the opportunity to build a priceless collection of great masterclasses. Each subscription entitles a library to two copies of each DVD with a licence to lend them to students and members of the institution, to screen them in lecture rooms, and by application to the MMF to put the masterclasses on an internal college intranet.

At the start of each academic year, libraries will have the chance to subscribe to a minimum of 30 hours of masterclasses. Invoices will be sent out in August and the DVDs dispatched in early September. For more details and to order please visit the Academic Institutions page at www.masterclassfoundation.org or email subscriptionsfamasterclassfoundation.org

A free 50-minute sampler DVD is available on request. fe,;

The first year's issue of 21 DVDs will include Maxim Vengerov on Bach, Mozart, Mendelssohn, Beethoven, Ravel, Sibelius and Shostakovitch; Andras Schiff on Bach, Schubert and the late Beethoven Piano Sonatas; Steven Isserlis on Schumann and Rachmaninov; Bernard Haitink on conducting Brahms; Yuri Bashmet on Shostakovitch; Zakhar Bron on the Bach Chaconne; 59 Cotham Hill Thomas Quasthoff and Joan Rodgers on singing, and Evelyn
