Dear Resident NOISY NIGHT WORKS ON THE WEST GATE FREEWAY IN THE SOUTH MELBOURNE AREA: SUNDAY 14 AUGUST TO FRIDAY 19 AUGUST 2016 We are writing to inform you of noisy road cutting night works that will take place in your area from Sunday 14 August to Friday 19 August as part of the CityLink Tulla Widening project. We need to remove some concrete on the road side to prepare this section of the West Gate Freeway for upcoming works to build a new lane. Following these works, we will begin to build a support structure that will be attached to the side of the freeway and will support the new additional lane. We acknowledge that road cutting activities is a noisy construction activity that can be disruptive to nearby residences and businesses. To minimise these impacts, respite periods will be in place during road cutting activities. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience and understanding as we complete these works as safely and efficiently as possible. Where will we be working We will be working in the open section on the inbound lanes of the West Gate Freeway over Clarke Street and Moray Street, South Melbourne, as shown in red on the map below.

We are writing to inform you of noisy road cutting night works that will take place in your area from Sunday 14 August to Friday 19 August as part of the CityLink Tulla Widening project.

Setting up a safe, restricted work zone underneath the West Gate Freeway between Moray Street and Clarke Street

Demolishing and removing a section of the West Gate Freeway using road saws Removing the bases of concrete safety barriers using a small crane

When works will occur From Sunday 14 August to Friday 19 August 2016, night works will be scheduled between 8pm to 5am.

Please be advised that the night works outlined above are in addition to the ongoing construction activities in your area that are scheduled Monday to Saturday between 7am and 6pm.

What to expect during construction Increase in construction noise from road cutting activities Lights facing towards our work area Footpath restrictions and temporary removal of car spaces on Moray Street and Clarke Street during works Traffic management on the West Gate Freeway for motorists including lane closures Traffic management for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians in the Moray Street and Clarke Street area Construction personnel working in the area

This work may be rescheduled in the event of unsuitable weather or other unavoidable circumstances. We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we undertake these important works.

We are committed to keeping residents informed and minimising the impacts during construction, while keeping the community and our workers safe at all times.
