As you may be aware, Transurban and the Victorian Government are working together to develop and deliver the $5.5 billion Western Distributor Project, which is now in the planning and development stage. Preliminary work on Webb Dock Access improvements are beginning as the first component of the Western Distributor Project to get underway, with works being undertaken and delivered in conjunction with the CityLink Tulla Widening project, which involves adding lanes and other measures to improve the flow of traffic across the 24 kilometre section of freeway from the CityLink tunnels to Melbourne Airport. Dear Resident

We are writing to provide you with an update about important activities going ahead that will improve traffic flow on Melbourne’s critical M1 eastbound, connect freight from Webb Dock to the Bolte Bridge and make the Bolte Bridge entry ramp safer and easier for trucks to use.

Webb Dock Access improvements will include the following works:

An upgrade and signal improvements to the Cook St/Salmon St intersection and; A new lane from Cook St to Bolte Bridge ramp, providing direct access to freight heading north A longer and wider exit ramp providing more capacity to enable ramp metering A new ramp being built with a gentler curve to reduce the risk of truck roll overs

The works will be undertaken by CPB Contractors – Transurban’s construction contractor on the CityLink Tulla Widening project. What we are doingConfirming property boundaries and collecting information about underground services located in the area. This will involve:

Accessing properties with permission from landowners in the area Surveying property boundaries Using a specialised vacuum truck (non-destructive digging truck) to safely uncover

underground pipes and services Recording the location of boundaries and services Re-instating our work areas.

Where we will beAt the rear of properties on Douglas Street and Turner Street, as indicated on the map below.
