On Holy Saturday we blessed the new Easter fire, the Easter water, and the first food to be eaten on Easter. Yes, for some of you that was the jelly beans that were eaten immediately at the reception following the Easter Vigil. Did you also know that the Easter season is a traditional time for house blessings? Safe Environment Annual Training for all volunteers is scheduled for Thursday, April 19 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. in the church basement. Please allow a half hour to complete the training. An alternative to coming in for training is to complete the online training found on the web at www.stcdio.org/about/safe-environment.html Contact Eileen Uhlenkamp at 218 756-3614 or the par-ish office to schedule a time or if you are taking the online training. A make-up class will be held Wednes-day, April 25 at 10:00 a.m.

Religious Education End of the Year Potluck will be on Wednesday, April 18th. Mass is at 6:30 p.m., which means we will not serve our regular meal. The potluck

will follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass and Potluck are open to all parishioners. Please bring a dish to share and join for a relaxed final evening for our 1st-6th grade youth.

Last High School Religious Education class will be Wednesday, April 25 at the Net Retreat in Browerville beginning with supper at 5:30 p.m. There will be car-pool sign-up sheets available on the 18th. Permission forms for students younger than 18 years of age will be made available, and will be due on the 25th.

Please continue to Pray for the 1st Communion and Confirmation students, as well as for their volunteer teachers. First Holy Communion will be on May 6th at the 10:00 a.m. Mass and Confirmation will be on May 17th at 7:00 p.m. at Saint Ann’s in Wadena.

Mini Retreat for First Communion candidates has been scheduled for Wednesday, April 18 at 6:30 p.m. at St. Joseph’s. One parent needs to attend with their child.

SJC Parish Council Election nominations ballots will be available today and next weekend from the ushers. Your completed ballot needs to be returned by Tues-day, April 24 to be counted. Return them to the ushers or the parish office. You are being asked to choose three men and three women for nomination for the two posi-tions open.

Cluster Calendar & Area Events

Central Minnesota Koinonia will hold a weekend retreat for adults 20 and older interested in experienc-ing the reality of Christian community, fellowship and sharing at the TEC Center in Belle Prairie. The retreat begins at 5:30pm Friday,May 4th and ends about 5 pm on the-6th . The theme of the retreat is “Pascal Mys-tery”. The cost is $60 per person, with full or partial scholarships available, if necessary. The St. Cloud Diocese Mission Office staff is coming to Christ the King Parish in Browerville on Wednesday, April 25 at 9:00 a.m. to speak to our deanery about our mission connections around the world and the global solidarity efforts of our diocese. Mission groups of our deanery will display samples of their work and Fair Trade items will be available for purchase. We begin with fellowship in the parish basement and will end with liturgy at 11:00 a.m. ALL ARE WELCOME.

The NET Team will present Choose Your Own Adventure for youth in grades 7 through 12 on Wednesday, April 25th at Christ the King. Will you choose the adventure created for you? The retreat will begin at 5:30 with a meal and end at 9:00 p.m. Contact Beverly Geraets with any questions.

Marriage Amendment We as Catholics need to give unified and positive sup-port to the passage of the Marriage Amendment ballot question this November. A second collection will be taken up on April 21-22. Funding will be needed in the months ahead prior to the vote on November 6. Please read the insert in today’s bulletin.
