"If I had an army to say the Rosary, I could conquer the world."

(Blessed Pope Pius IX)

Dear Parishioners, May 20th is the Solemnity of Pentecost which is considered the birthday of the Church. As you will recall, we have been praying the “Family Ro-sary” (our Church Family) in the months of May and October beginning 25 minutes before each Sun-day (Saturday evening) Mass. Since Pentecost is on May 20th this May our Rosary will focus on the Ho-ly Spirit. We will select 5 decades where the pres-ence and activity of the Holy Spirit is found: (1) the Annunciation, (2) the Visitation, (3) the Baptism of Jesus, (4) the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple, and (5) Pentecost. Our intention will be “for a new Annunciation & Pentecost” in the Church, in St. Bernard and Ascen-sion Parishes and in our lives. What does this mean? Simply put, that we like Mary would be aware of and docile to the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives so that Jesus may be born again in our lives, in Ascension and St. Bernard parishes, and in our Church. We are asking different parishioners to lead us in our Family Rosary. If you are asked, might God be calling you to lead us? Please consider making the effort to come early by yourself or with your spouse/family to pray the Family Rosary with your parish family. When the time for Pentecost was fulfilled, they were all in one place together. And suddenly there came from the sky a noise like a strong driving wind, and it filled the entire house in which they were. Then there appeared to them tongues as of fire, which parted and came to rest on each one of them. And they were all filled with the holy Spirit and began to speak in different tongues, as the Spirit enabled them to proclaim. Acts 2:4 Come Lord Jesus, send us Your Spirit, renew the face of the earth! Fr. Gregory
