Clairgate Public School Care, Excellence, Innovation, Opportunity in a positive, dynamic environment Term 1 Week 10 29th March 2016 Clairgate Chronicle Welcome to the Clairgate Chronicle for this fortnight – Week 10, Term 1. Raffle Success Many thanks to our wonderful P&C Fund Raising Team for the Easter Raffle which raised just over $1100.00. Thank you to all who supported Clairgate by buying tickets and congratulations to all our winners. Clairgate Super Fish Huge congratulations to all our swimmers who swam at the Regional Carnival in Homebush last week – Grace Manning, Isabel Manning, Ashley Becroft, Delynda Pilbin, Zachary Heffernan, Billy Higgins, Rory Hayes, Jack Histon, Alexander Myers and James Leo. Special congratulations to Billy Higgins who will now go on to swim at the State Carnival – well done Billy! WOWEE Projects Thank you everyone who worked hard on their WOWEE projects – they are fantastic. You are welcome to come and see all these terrific projects and celebrate our student’s success on Wednesday, 6 th April at 2.30pm. This will be instead of our planned assembly for this day. Mrs McInally has written the following: Dear Children, Parents and Caregivers, You are invited to an afternoon celebration of the Clairgate WOWEE Projects. Where: The Library, at 2:30pm on Wednesday, 6th April, 2016 There was an amazing response to this activity and the over 50 projects display many student’s intrinsic love of learning and demonstrate engagement and enrichment with their explorations. The involved children will be there to talk about their project and receive their WOWEE Certificate and feedback. Look forward to seeing you there. MUFTI DAY On our last day of school this term – Friday, 8 th April, 2016 – we will have a whole school Mufti Day to raise funds for schools in FIJI as they are struggling after the devastating cyclone they experienced earlier this year. Children may wear Mufti clothes on this day for a gold coin donation – no thongs or bare midriffs please. TOPSTEPS and STEPping Up Together Our “TOPSTEPS” Day is coming up next week, and we will also have a “STEPping Up Together” Day next term – these are days where children with particular gifts and talents have the opportunity to share and develop these talents with passionate teachers from the 7 schools in the STEPS community. I look forward to seeing the wonderful activities and hearing all about the TOPSTEPS Day next week. Many thanks to Mrs McInally for her amazing organisation of this most prestigious program – now in its 8 th year!

Mobile Phones We recommend your child does not bring a mobile phone to school – however, if your child needs to bring a mobile phone to school for safety reasons on the walk to or from school they must hand them in to the office as soon as they arrive at school. These may then be collected at 3.00pm.

Change of Morning Routine From this morning, all children will line up in their class lines in the main quad area. Parents will leave at this time. Children will be sent to their classes from the main quad area in an orderly and quiet manner once parents have left. We ask that all parents leave quickly so we can get children into class in a quiet, settled and time efficient manner.

Have a wonderful fortnight,

Kind regards,

Mrs Michelle Lawrow Principal Clairgate – just great!!
