Introduction

• Proper classroom management emphasizes what the instructor expects from the students in terms of behavior and learning rather than focusing on problematic behavior and discipline problems (Kratochwill, n.d.).

Objectives

Given a presentation, handout, and examples, a new instructor should be able to:• Design a lesson and supportive materials that will engage the

students with no supervision

• Identify different learning styles and adjust their lessons to meet the different styles with no supervision and minimal disruption to the learning environment

• Create clear expectations and rules for their classroom to create a positive learning environment with no supervision

• Identify a negative situation in the classroom and decide what is the best approach to handle the situation with no supervision and minimal disruption to the learning environment

• Apply techniques discussed in a role-play exercise involving a disruptive student with no guidance
