Asthma: A2 Asthma Action Student Program 904-202-9355

THE PLAYERS Center for Child Health at Wolfson Children’s Hospital [email protected] The Community Asthma Partnership at Wolfson Children’s Hospital and The American Lung Association in Florida, Northeast Region partner to provide asthma education, awareness, support and resources for schools. The A2 student program offers a series of educational sessions that encourages the student to learn about asthma management and control in school and at home. Our student program is geared for elementary, middle and high school students.

American Lung Association Beth Jensen-Development Manager 520-7117 [email protected] "Open Airways in Schools" is an asthma management program for ages 8-11 (grades 3-5). It is a 6-week program where children are taught to manage their asthma so as not to miss school or have to utilize emergency room services. Children receive a peak flow meter and spacer. Teachers, nurses, parents and volunteers can be trained to facilitate the program at no charge. The ALA provides each school with all the materials necessary for the program.
