Newsletter Rhythmic Gymnastics Club Worcester December 2018 Design by IndigoMoonDesign The club will be closed Sunday 23 December – Monday 7 January Last training sessions will be on Saturday 22 December All classes will restart as normal from Tuesday 8 January. Gymfusion Well done to our Dance and Display team who travelled to Birmingham on Sunday 11 November and performed at this year’s Gymfusion event. Gymfusion is a festival of gymnastics and celebrates the sport in a friendly, non-competitive environment. This year’s theme was Time & the girls performed a fabulous 5-minute routine. Our gymnasts (aged 6-16) performed amazingly well, demonstrating their skills in front of the crowd at the Birmingham Hippodrome. Invitation to watch training sessions ~ w/c 10 December Group League - Round 3 & British Open Apparatus Competition The club was in action over the 24/25 November weekend competing at Fenton Manor, Stoke-on-Trent: Elizaveta, Elodie, Mia, & Eva competed individually in the Espoir Open Apparatus Championships, whilst Georgia competed in the Pre-Junior Open Apparatus Championships. All the girls performed very well, with Georgia coming 2nd with Clubs. On the Sunday, our Red (Elodie, Mia, Eva & Georgia) & Purple (Amber, Scarlett, Lucy, Jess B & Athina) groups competed in the 3rd & final round of the Espoir Elite Group League. After the 3 rounds, Worcester Red finished 2nd in the Elite league & Worcester Purple placed 5th. At the end of each session, the class will be performing a short routine showing some of their skills: Wednesday ALL classes: Wed 12 December 5-8pm Display @ 6pm for ALL classes Thurs Recreational class: Thur 13 December 6-7.30pm Display @ 7.15pm Friday Recreational class: Fri 14 December 5.30-7pm Display @ 6.45pm Saturday Beginners Rec. class: Sat 15 December 9-10am Display @ 9.45am Saturday Advanced Rec. class: Sat 15 December 10am-12 Display @ 11.40pm The Club Shop will be open for some Christmas shopping on Friday & Saturday We would like to do a little fundraising so we will be running a cake stall on the Friday & Saturday. Any cake donations for the sale will be gratefully received. The Committee would like to wish you all a Happy Christmas & all the very best for the New Year! Congratulations to all the gymnasts & a huge thank you to Petra, the coaches, club volunteers & the judges for their help & assistance at all the competitions this year. The club sent a large team ranging from Level 1 to Level 5 groups, with Emily A, Tilly N & Mya L competing for the first time. Well done everyone.
