Introduction:Dynamic Cost Dashboards is a new reporting system available to Self-Funded Group administrators. With this system, enrollment and financial data is available 24 hours a day. The Dynamic Cost Dashboards is very interactive which allows you to drill-down to obtain more detailed data and create reports for a specific time period. Utilizing this system provides you with access to the information without submitting a request, thus eliminating the wait time experienced in the past.

Reports Available:

• Financial Overview

• Facility Cost and Utilization Overview

• Professional Cost and Utilization Overview

• Negotiated Provider and Coordination of Benefits (COB) Savings

• Top 100 Facility Providers

• Top 100 Professional Providers

• Top 200 Professional Services by Procedure Code

• Enrollment Reports

• Claim Reports

This user guide will help you learn how to create and export the financial and enrollment reports available for your group.

1 Log in to GroupAccess at AlabamaBlue.com/GroupAccess.

2 Click on "Dynamic Cost Dashboards" located under the Reports section.

3 Select Groups & Select Divisions• The Groups and Divisions associated with the segment selected will automatically populate.

• Each Group and Division will be automatically selected with a black check mark.

• To limit the Group and/or Divisions selected, simply uncheck the box/boxes that do not apply.

4 Define Time Period (optional)• The Default Time Period is Rolling Paid Year: Current + Two Previous. This means that

you will see data for the current rolling 12 months and data for the previous two years using the same rolling months.

• If you want to view a different time period:

A Select a time period from the drop down list. B Use the radio buttons to select a comparison time period for your report.

5 Select Available ReportsSelect one of nine reports by clicking on the name of the report listed to the right.

1 Select Corporation• Click on the drop down arrow to select your corporation from the list.

• Click Apply. Click anywhere on the screen to refresh the page.

2 Select Segment• Select Total Corporation, group or a special grouping.

• The select segment options will populate based on the corporation code chosen in the previous step.

1 Filtering report dataOnce a report has been generated, certain criteria can be revised without having to return to the launch page. You can edit the following criteria using the drop down selections to the left of the report:

A Time Period B Places of Treatment

C Graph Measure D Graph by Month or Quarter

2 Drilling into more detailed information

Viewing More Information: E Hover your mouse over the report headings until you find a plus sign + . If you click on the plus

sign, it will allow you to drill down into the data to obtain more detailed information. When applicable, you will be able to drill down using Corporation Code, Group Number, and Place of Treatment.

Viewing Less Information:F Hover your mouse over the report headings until you find a minus sign - . The minus sign will

collapse the categories to limit the amount of information viewed.

Sorting Information:G You can sort the data in a specific column by clicking on the sort symbol next to

the column heading.

1 Click any item within the report.

2 Scroll down to the bottom of the report page and click Download.

3 Select a format. The most common format selected is Crosstab, which exports the data into an Excel spreadsheet.

1 Click a specific point within the graph.

2 Scroll down to the bottom of the report page and click Download.

3 Select PDF from the list.

4 Click on the Download button to begin the export process.

Frequently Asked Questions

GRP20000-1702NS

1. How often is the financial and enrollment data refreshed?The data is refreshed monthly, on the first week of the month.

2. What time period is covered in the financial and enrollment data?The data covers a rolling 36-month time period.

3. Do the reports include the cost of services that are carved out?No. The data only includes cost information for benefits administeredby Blue Cross.

4. Who can access the Dynamic Cost Dashboard?This reporting system is available to all Self-Funded groups.Primary Group Administrators (PGA) for Self-Funded groupswill automatically be granted access to the dashboards.

PGAs will be allowed to grant additional access as needed.Instructions for granting additional permissions can be found inthe GroupAccess Instruction Manual on GroupAccess. PGAscan also view the Quick Tip video titled “How to Delegate Access”for more information.

5. Can a Third Party Administrator (TPA) access the Dynamic CostDashboards tool?Yes. The PGA can grant TPAs access to the tool. TPAs will have adifferent log-in and password for each group that they manage. If thePGA wants Blue Cross to send data directly to the TPA, they needto complete the Business Associate/TPA Disclosure form (MKT-442)to have the TPA added as a PHI contact. Please contact yourBlue Cross Representative for a copy of the form.
